Matriculation Exam Grades

I didn’t find any previous posts concerning matriculation exam results equivalent to the Finnish form of the tests.

This is how it goes here on scale from 1 (Improbatur) to 7 (Laudatur):

** 5% of students receive a Laudatur (7)

 • 15 % of students receive an Eximia cum laude approbatur (6)
 • 20 % of students receive a Magna cum laude approbatur (5)
 • 24 % of students receive a Cum laude approbatur (4)
 • 20 % of students receive a lubenter approbatur (3)
 • 11 % of students receive an Approbatur (2)
 • 5 % of students receive an Improbatur. (1)*

I got Laudatur (7) from English and Eximias (6) from physics and literature. I will take mathematics and politics exams during spring. How would these grades look to the American universities? Do they give conditional offers like British ones based on the grades to be achieved?

Offers of admission from American universities are conditional but not as strictly defined as British ones. American universities typically expect you to keep your grades at the same level as those with which you applied. If your grades drop significantly, your offer of admission can be revoked. But American universities do not say “you have to get at least 2 As and one B.”
