MAY 2005 SAT TEST – FORM ONE (verbal experimental)

okay i was gonna put the psychological concept. but didn’t it imply that there was only ONE? i think the word was problem, and what problem were they talking about?

The problem? Lack of interest in illusions.

Yeah, for that striding into the future one I guessed the answer which talked about elections and pronouncements. :S

aaargh. i was going to put that. :frowning:

what were the choices, zipcode?

i was hesitating between “we can see a glimpse into the future” and “there are pronouncements made”. i put “glimpse into future” but im still not sure if thats right…any other opinions/

wasn’t the section about the future the experimental one?

one choice was at these times we can see more clearly into the future or something (my answer), the other was at these times people make pronouncements about the future

we dont know…could be any one of the verbal parts i think. though isnt it more likely to be one of the 2 in the middle?

oh, was it? if all of us had the same 4 reading sections, how do we know?

and the experimental would have to be one of the first 3, because the last one is shorter. anyone remember what the passage in the shorter section was?

i just copy and pasted this…anyone know?

my last sentence in the essay wasn’t finished becuase i ran out of time but it was my conclusion paragraph and i had already repeated my thesis and everything. will this bring down my score much? will it affect it at all? i don’t know what to think

I put the “pronouncements” one because I thought it was more relevant to the whole point made about “striding confidently” into the future… but then again the “clearer vision” answer seems just as plausible. shrugs

there was also one thing about how were can make the past better, or something, wasn’t there? the answers seemed vague on this one to me. what’d y’all put?

i think the shorter passage may have been the congo one. right?

about the election year and commencements, i put ‘times when people make plans/promises for the future’ sth like that

That was another answer choice for the same question. The most likely ones were “make the future better than the past”, “pronouncements”, and “see the future clearer”.

yeah i think you may be right. good, that means that one can’t be the experimental

i liked the college girls the best, and congo the least, actually. haha…

Also: What was the answer for the bluffing thing (scifi passage)? Answers were intimidate, mislead adversaries, and some others I forget

In terms of actually reading, I agree that the passage on college girls was the most interesting/meaningful.

Jsn, what’d you put for that question? pronouncements?
