Does anyone remember what the answer to the question with the median age of 17, oldest person was 20 question.

@jeff
they were all right, so E

I’m still waiting for someone to confirm that 32 was NOT an answer choice for “A/8 + 2/9 = B/72” I’m pretty sure I put “E.”

@chachaseeds
I remember the answer was 34 and putting E.

We should make a consolidated list…

Also got sqrt(r^2+t^2-s^2) for something with a triangle.

@lemniscate
me too. did it the long way around for a while and then realized it was rather easy :

But for choice III, 14 are aged 17, so 14*17=238+20=258. 258/15 (to find median age)=17.2. Is that the same as a median of 17?

@lemniscate

Also got sqrt(r^2+t^2-s^2)

i got that too lem, did you guys get y< 2x for the 3 triangle sides one or was that on the exp

I remember getting sqrt 3 for something. But then that may have been experimental

Jeff: What you did was find the mean. The median just means lining them up in order and picking the middle one, basically. So all three choices were possibilities, so the answer was E.

4sqrt3 was the answer to something I believe (was it the hexagon one?)

@lemniscate me too. that was the only one with a negative s^2. is there any chance you remember the hypotenuse? i know the legs were x and s

@Nemesis: Oh, I thought median age was the average age…

@kevin: yes i got that for the hexagon one.

agh i thought zero wasn’t an integer, =_= blew by the rest of the math section though

anyone know if i put 8/10 for the fill in instead of 4/5 would i get it wrong? i totally forgot to simplify

Yea, I got 4sqrt3 for hexagon. And now that I think about it, I think I put 34 now, which was “E.” LUCKY GUESS FTW!!!

“A fraction does not have to be reduced unless it will not fit the grid.” from CB~ copied from another CC forum.

do you recall getting -27/4 as an answer for anything?

beachglass, i remember getting that.
