" am against his immigration stance, yet reality how would the US deport 12 million illegals?"

That’s my issue. Immigration. I can live with other things but not his position on immigration. I don’t support deportation, but I do support attrition. Make it unpleasant here, enforce the laws, make some go home and others not come in the first place. Support, encourage and threaten Mexico to do right by its own people. Here’s a question I always ask: what happens to those millions of people if they suddenly become legal. They will demand (as they should) benefits, minimum wage, etc. and then they are no longer inexpensive, so employers don’t hire/retain them, but they have no skills, so who supports them? Who then fills the jobs that these new legal folks won’t do for small wages? New influxes of immigrants. So then we have native born Americans who can’t get starter jobs and are on public assistance, we have the formerly-illegals who can’t get jobs but still need tons of expensive services and who pays? I think government policy should be about the best interests of a particular nation, not making nice. But I won’t call you a Nazi if you disagree!

The problem is until you get Mexico to help the situation it will continue. I believe I read that 20% of the Mexican economy is from illegals sending money back. Can you imagine…the Mexican economy would tumble and tehn other countries will bail them out again.

I am for a constitutional amendment that illegal immigrants from any country who gives birth, does not get to stay because the child is now a naturalized citizen.

I work in VA and live in NC…on any given day there are 40-50 immigrants standing in the parking lot of the 7-11 looking for day jobs, it is frightening as a woman to pull into the lot and your car be swarmed. The 7-11 had to hire rent a cops to control the area.

In NC, when I was in the educational field, it is also die-heartening to see kids fail the EOGs b/c when the field work was done, they left for 3-4 mos, would come back and fail the EOG. Our DS is a sr., there is a child who is 18 and in 1oth grade b/c she failed the gateways.

The saddest story is an illegal immigrant driving an uninsured car from another illegal, plowed down 3 middle school children the day b4 Thanksgiving…he was held in jail and told to find his way to Atlanta to be deported…the outcry was so loud that the judge then ordered he would be accompanied to Atlanta. One child is wheelchair bound, with limited vocabulary, what did the guy get “go home” and no jail time. The parents are military and have excellent insurance, but no recourse in regard to punishment

Eggsactly. And I’ve been a literacy tutor for 20 years to mostly Mexicans so I’m deeply sympathetic on a personal level, but I also know that many want to be at home and in their own culture and language, but able to support their families. The problem is corruption within Mexico and if we stop enabling their ethnic cleansing, perhaps changes will be made. Also, open borders allows much gang infiltration and I’m not ok with that.

I agree with you on immigration! That’s why I have been so opposed to McCain. Romney has dropped out and Huckabee is a big illegal advocate. The only only one left for me is Ron Paul, who doesn’t have a chance.

Between Obama and Hillary I’ll take Hillary, because I know she will move to the middle like her husband. At least her health care plan will force documented and undocument (illegal alien) workers to pay for health care by garnishing wages.

Obama is a great speaker, but he has no experience nor did he have the same cultural experience growing up as most Americans. He did not celebrate Christmas, Easter, or 4th of July growing up in Indonesia. He was voted the “Most Liberal in 2007”! He has also said he would close NASA!

At least with Hillary I know what I am getting. I don’t like it, but I can live with it. I also know that Iran, Syria, Russia, etc will not want to mess with the US, because of her. She will not try to appease them like Obama, and she won’t be a hothead like McCain.

I know I’m going to get flamed by posting my opinion, but that’s how I see! My intent is not to offend anyone.

MS 13 is a very large problem in No. VA. They make the bloods and cripts like boy scouts.

The open border also causes an issue with terrorists.

What I am for is holding the employers responsible. Seriously, how can the HR director not realize that 200 of your employees have the same social security number?

Why should you get flamed? You’ve got a good point there, more defensible than my loathing of Hillary. I just think she’s so fundamentally corrupt that principle will go out the window if expediency wills it.

Yes. Right. ANd when there are no jobs, it will be time for the hardworking people to make things right at home. Have you ever scoped out the websites of the women in Mexico begging the US government to send the men back? Heart breaking.

The other sad thing is that the employers that hire illegals usually, don’t always follow safety, or health regulations. Many illegals get hurt or crippled for life working for employers who don’t care about safety. Illegals risk their lives crossing the border to be exploited. It’s just not right!

BTW, I have seen the stories about the wives and mothers begging their men to stay home.

Very true and it is sad. Without question. But it’s also unacceptable for working Americans to have to pay for the choices and policies of other governments.

Remember Hillary’s hubby was too fearful to call it when he had UBL in his scope. He also did nothing when the Cole was hit.

I had my number 1 and 2 choice, one was republican, one was democrat, because I would not vote for Huck…I guess my number 1 is going to get my vote…Huck has no money, and can not mathematically win the nom…so McCain will be the nom

I am still open to the dem, but I just don’t think they will win me over with the rhetoric, and nationalized health care

Here’s some advice to those of you who want to help the Republicans win in November. Hold your nose and make a contribution to Hillary’s campaign. She needs more money to defeat Obama in the Dem primary. Hillary will be much easier to beat in November.

McCain is taking a lot of heat today for skipping the vote on the economic stimulus package. Other than what the press and pundits are saying (that he wimped out and wanted to avoid alienating anyone), why on earth would he do this?

He was giving a speech at CPAC, one of the most conservative conventions every year. Everyone has been saying this is one of the most important speeches in his life, that he needs to show that he really is a true conservative.
