Hi guys my application has been on Reviewed-Decision pending for over a month and im getting impatient as I have to get back to other colleges also. Any idea when to expect a decision?? My stats are decently above the minimum requirements on their website
@ss302001 I’ve been on r-dp for over a month as well. I’m sure my stats are near the minima which is probably why it’s taking so long I don’t even know if I’m getting in at this point. I understand the impatience because I am a U.S. applicant and need to commit to a school before the May 1st deadline.
I’m an A level student - if I get into McGill on the condition of Admitted based on final results, will I only need to send them my final A-Level result in August to complete the process, or will they request physical versions of the documents I uploaded to Minerva to be sent directly from my school to them?

I’ve been on further review required for a month, without anything to add on my checklist and no e-mails about any additional documentation. I uploaded some updated documents today and sent them an email, wonder what they’ll say. I remember I was instantly changed to FRR the second I uploaded my documents the first time. Anybody else in the same situation?
@drmcmuffin if you haven’t heard back via email, I’d use servicepoint - it’s a lot better
@greenfinger
you mean e-mail admissions/servicepoint, right? I sent them an email the first timeIi uploaded docs and it changed to FRR instantly, they replied with:
"This status indicates that your file has been reviewed by our Admissions Team but your final decision has been delayed. Admission to all McGill programs is competitive and minimum admission averages vary from year to year. Our objective is to admit the top students across all admit types. In order to achieve this, we are carefully checking and comparing the academic quality of candidates as we go.
We appreciate your patience throughout this process. Your MINERVA checklist is subject to updates by our Admissions Team. Please be sure to check in regularly to know if any additional or updated documents have been requested."
kinda wierd since I don’t get how someone saw my documents the second I uploaded them haha, but I’ve emailed them today after uploading the newer docs so let’s see what they respond with.
@drmcmuffin that’s odd… nothing like that happened to me when I was applying. What I mean by servicepoint is that if you go to the website (https://mcgill.ca/servicepoint/contact-us should work) and use the live chat option during their hours you can get connected to a live person who is pretty helpful in answering questions. I don;t know if you’ve already used this, let me know how it works!
For my S17 we called Servicepoint. They were able to go into the application and make sure everything was in order. I would suggest that if you can do it. Best of luck!
@SwimmingDad @greenfinger thanks! I don’t know if I can call them since I’m an international, but I’ll definitely try out the live-chat option. I’ll update you on how it goes!
alright, just did the live-chat, here are some key points that I’ll put down that might help anybody who undergoes what I went through:
- it's not an error, the reason it instantly changed to FRR is that 'that was the default status before there were any missing documents.'
- If you're not seeing any missing documents after your status has been changed to FRR, it 'simply means that we are not ready to make a decision and are reviewing other applications in the meantime.'
- 'As long as you've provided all documents required, it's simply a matter of time until our admissions officers get back to you with a response.'
I also asked if this meant that my status was similar to someone who has a ‘Reviewed: Decision Pending’. He replied, “Yes, exactly! The two are very similar, the latter just means that your application has undergone a full review process.”
He also assured me that the documents I used today would be used as my application is re-reviewed, so I guess I’m thankful at still having a chance at admission haha, hopefully something comes out of it soon
MCGill admission process is pretty weird. My son has got offers in Engineering from UOFT and UBC in last week of Feb and first week of March respectively. His application status at Mc Gill went- Reviewed Decision Pending in last week of Feb. It is almost a month and the status has remained unchanged. Engineering decisions, I am told go out in last week of March only
