McGill or Georgetown (NHS)

McGill University (health science program
Major in “Anatomy and Cell Biology” (no pre-med)

or

Georgetown University, School of Nursing and Health Studies
Major in “Human Science” (Pre-med)

Which is better if Im considering MD or PhD in Biomedical Science?

Georgetown.

Depends on financial situation (cost vs. benefit) with Georgetown being almost double the cost.

McGill is a more science heavy school (ranked better in sciences that Georgetown), but Georgetown isn’t a slouch. Though, you’ll get no hand holding at McGill (I like the independence).

I may be a bit bias (I’m most likely also doing Anatomy and Cell Bio at McGill).

Nice, I’m in Anatomy too.

Yes, McGill is ranked higher in life science than Georgetown, but that’s because McGill only emphasize of research and grad students. Although I sometimes do like how McGill doesn’t treat us like babies, I also find myself, as an undergrad, very isolated from the school…

Also, McGill doesn’t have a pre-med program and the advisors aren’t that helpful.

Do you think I have better chance getting into med school if I go to georgetown, since there’re going to be relatively less students applying to med school than from McGill? lol
