So far it looks like McGill has released very few decisions for this point in time comparing with previous years. Do you think they are waiting to see the volume and quality of applications received until the extended admission deadline (Feb 1st), before we start seeing more decisions?

I am interested in applying to McGill for Fall 2025. Looking at their website, there seems to be no early action/decision deadline like most US schools. When did you submit all your application documents to receive a decision early? Thanks.

McGill does not have EA/ED like US schools. It admits on a rolling basis, based on competitiveness of the applicants - highly competitive applicants will get admitted first, applicants with borderline stats will hear relatively later in the process.
The best advice for receiving an earlier decision is applying and submitting all materials as early as possible. For US students that typically means applying as soon as the application portal opens (early October), and then reporting Senior year Q1/first semester grades as soon as you have them (portal for US self reporting grades usually opens early November).
McGill’s estimated decision release dates for US applicants extends between mid-December to end of April, but can sometimes go even beyond the US May 1st college decision day.

Looking for information around the wording in the offer letter from McGill around maintaining current academic achievement AND getting the IB diploma. If for some reason someone with an offer does not get enough points to earn the IB diploma would McGill rescind the offer? Since IB results don’t come out until July it would be very late to try to find another university to go to, housing, etc (given you need to accept or reject offers by May 1st). Hoping that is just wording to ensure students don’t slack off the rest of the year after getting their offers. Thanks!

My D received her acceptance last night. Admitted: Faculty of Arts and Science.
Submitted 1Q grades 12/14, status from ready for review - admitted 1/22 at 8:35 pm. No email. US/Cdn, US public hs, Northeast. SAT 1530, 4.86 W, honors/APs, A/A+ in all prereq subjects since freshman. 2 completed APs in junior year - 4,5. 3 APs - 1Q grades A/A+ . School offers AP starting junior year.

Congratulations!
We are still waiting. Very interesting that there was no email - we’ll double up checks on Minerva  DD also from a US public high school, Northeast, high stats, uploaded Q1 grades on 11/23.
Could you please share if your D is still waiting to hear from additional programs at McGill? Thanks!

She heard back on both at the same time: Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Science.

My DS heard back from McGill today with acceptance to BSc Biol, Biomed & Life Sci and B Arts and Science. Self-reported grades submitted 12/20 and 1st sem grades submitted just 2 days ago! It just says “Admitted Pending Final Results,” but I called, and the person helping me said that it just means you need to graduate. He’s very excited to have this as an option. No email here also.
