So I just moved schools from a boarding school to a public and I am in this whole complicated situation where I am living with my uncle for the time being. After telling my counselor that, she told me that this program called the McKinney Vento program exists and that it is supposed to aid students that do not have a permanent residence or live away from the parents. I want to apply for it but the only effects I see of it are that I will be given federal grants that I don’t have to pay back. My goal schools/colleges are in the top 20 area, but cost isn’t really an issue to my family (the getting in part is). I was wondering if being McKinney Vento, or essentially homeless, would hurt my chances of getting into an Ivy League College or a top 20 school.
Additional Infromation:
I am Asian (with U.S citizenship)
