<p>Well, as long as you think you are a strong candidate and didn’t get the Q1 request, then that gives more credence to the theory</p>
<p>well, I’m not sure if I can contribute to this theory with this info I’ll give, but my counselor told me that Penn did not ask for my Q1 grades. However, I consider myself a below-avg to average applicant so I sure hope I’m not auto-rejected :/</p>
<p>I have a 2230, 3.9+, and average ECs (maybe a little on the weak side). Rank 2/400ish, transcript shows strength in math.
With that said, I consider myself pretty inferior in every other aspect. It feels like my Q1 grades should’ve been requested…</p>
<p>PennHopeful, I think ur stats are excellent, so it just adds more credibility to our speculation that if u didn’t get requested for Q1 score, u r auto reject/acceptance/deferral. My GC didn’t get requested for Q1 score, and I am actually a below average applicant, so I really hope that I didn’t get rejected

<p>I think the request is only in a small number of cases that are really borderline accept/defer. I would say even 90% of the non-auto-anything don’t get this request.</p>

<p>It seems like the Q1 grade requests are actually pretty rare, so it probably doesn’t mean too much…</p>
