I have met a CCer IRL and had a delightful lunch. That CCer has met a few other CCers at accepted student events. I also hope to meet @MaineLonghorn at some point, but it might have to be in the fall as I was unable to pick up my D from college the other day. Sorry about that!
A friend contacted me recently to say she realized who I was on CC, so that was amusing. I do sometimes think that if anyone holds a grudge against me for being too blunt, they could probably pretty easily work out who I am. I should be nicer!
I am about an hour north of NYC, not far from a well-travelled route that leads to an abundance of well-known colleges and universities. Feel free to pm me if anyone is going to be in the area.
Not for this board (yet), but on the Disney board we’ve had a few meetups, and once I was in WDW and someone came up to me and said “are you (my screenname for that board)” and I said “Yes”! and we had a nice chat (she was a mom with kids the same age as mine).
My H was totally freaked out by it, lol, I thought it was awesome.
Have met many cc’ers over the years, hosted several in my home, and have helped cc’ers and their kids in a variety of circumstances, and vice versa . Once my s lent a cc kid a sleeping bag and it was never to be seen again, but aside from that,no problems, no one killed anyone, and lots of good times were had by all.
@MotherOfDragons I’m really curious how the person would know, out of ALL the many people at WDW, that it was you. I think like your husband, I’d be a little freaked out, too. haha.
How did the DC meetup go?
I was out of town and sorry I missed it.
I once recognized another CC’er at a hotel in my son’s college city because she had described her husband and son on CC (as very tall and thin) and I knew her son was going to the same college as mine. I’m sure she was shocked when I walked over to her and asked if she was @anxiousmom! :))
Hawaii IRL meet up was amazing!!’ CC will forever have my heart for the fab folk I have “met” here.
I actually go to school with a couple - @JROBTHEkid and @SandyScrubs - but have only met the former. He and I became good friends this school year (his freshman year, my sophomore year). We actually first met on FB after I recognized him using the same profile pic across both sites lolol.
Down to meet others, though. Especially @MYOS1634, who’s been a massive help to me over the last 3.5 years.
@doschicos it is a picture friendly message board, and a lot of us post trip reports on it. It’s not hard to spot a 6 foot blonde and her 6’4" husband- we stick out (or up, lol) in a crowd.
We had a great meet up in DC. It was fun putting some names to faces. Thanks to mominva for organizing! Sorry to have missed the HI meetup.

One time a CCer posted something about sitting in a Starbucks - I can’t remember what exactly she said, because I don’t think it was the name of our town - but I realized she was just up the road from us.
It did! Great time with another longtime cc’er!
