If you have a weak stomach, you might not want to click on the link, but I suspect most people know about the history of crazy statements by Mel Gibson. I really do not understand this guy. He is a very successful actor and movie producer. He seems to have had much good fortune in his life yet he seems to be a very bitter man.

Here is my theory. Some people are highly emotional all the time and are driven by their emotions and not logic and reasoning. Having extreme emotions and being able to express them are what make Gibson a successful actor. Those same emotions make him unable to properly function in a life with rules, boundries, logic and reasoning. What’s your theory?

Sick, disturbed, disgusting, entitled.

Well, he was right when he said she has worse problems than he does.

Loving a man who behaves this way – or having a child with him in hopes of a financial payday, if that’s the real story – is, IMHO, even sicker than the behavior of the man.

She has a 12 year old son with Timothy Dalton, so I’m not so sure she needed a financial payday. I suspect she gets quite a chunk of change for child support for that child.

Mel has insulted every “group” I can think of except Asians. But tommorrow is another day, and sadly probably another audio tape.

I’m betting Lindsay Lohan probably loves Mel right now, he managed to put her nonsense on the back burner for a bit.

This man is an animal. I just can’t even imagine this behavior.

I never liked Mel Gibson. There was always something about him that gave me the creeps. I’m talking even back in the Mad Max days. Now I know what it was. He’s a woman hating racist bigot.

I could hardly believe my ears when I heard all that. My first question was, “He is in jail, right?” It seems with those threats, he would be locked up. There is no doubt that she knew how to push his buttons, but the stuff that spewed from him was just vile!

^^^ Don’t forget anti-Semite. I stopped spending any money on any Mel Gibson movies after the Passion of the Christ came out.

On The View when they discussed this, Whoopi was saying that he’s not racist, just says dumb things when he’s been drinking. I sure don’t understand that. I haven’t liked him for a long time, so this doesn’t change my opinion of him, but I certainly won’t support any of his work. And no, I don’t think you can separate the man from the artist.

What’s up with all the extremely heavy breathing on the tapes? Does someone sound like this when they are having a panic attack? You couldn’t write a movie script any creepier than this.

I noticed the same thing GA2012Mom. Scary, and out of control.

I caught that on the Today show this morning. Very disturbing.

oh my. Awful. I used to think he was handsome and some of his movies were entertaining.

So I need to cross him off my list…and Alec Baldwin…and Woody Allen. And didn’t Sean Connery say he liked to hit his wife? The list is getting long…

Anyway, this is a really sick guy. One thing that was clear to me though was that this was a set-up. She was so calm and pleasant…knowing she was being taped. That’s OK though…he DESERVED to be set up.

I can’t believe that he’s already seeing a therapist.

I think a nice padded room is more in order.

My goodness, he is seriously ill. That heavy breathing was scary. He did not sound drunk. He was not slurring words, just ranting almost incoherently at times.

I wonder what his ex-wife may have to say and the grown children. This sounds like a person who has been deteriorating for a long time.

Here in Texas, I know several very good conservative Christian people who just adored him for making The Passion of the Christ. He was going to change the world. He was going to bring millions of people to Christ. I knew at the time that he was an utter pig and am so sad that he has (had?) support in the Christian community.

That’s quite a reprehensible statement. The fact that at one time she loved a man like that, a man who has admittedly punched her while she’s holding her child, a man who threatened to “put her in the rose garden” and to burn her house down (after forcing her to perform oral sex on him), a man who said she’d deserve to be raped by a pack of [n-word] – that makes her sicker than he is. Sicker than the man who thinks the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. The man who hates everyone except extreme rightwing Holocaust denying “Catholics” like himself, who believe that every Pope since Vatican II is a usurper. Sure. Right. Because, God forbid, she taped his threats.

And of course, as usual, a woman in her position can’t win. Taping the phone conversations makes her a gold-digger who deserves what she gets. As if anyone would believe her if she hadn’t taped them. Please. I am stunned that any thinking human being would say what you did.

I sat next to him several years ago at the hairdressers. Whoopie is correct in that he can be charming. (Don’t type until I finish typing). And I haven’t, and I will not ever, spend another dime on his movies.

BUT, Mr. Ellebud, the lawyer made a few comments. Viktoria (?) had a professional recorder because the sound quality was excellent. This was not an accident NO ONE, except someone who is play acting/setting someone up/passive/aggressive is that calm during an argument like that. He wasn’t in the room with her so she didn’t have to placate him to save her life or the life of the child. She was baiting him. (Not that he needed the help.) She was setting him up.

As for a chunk of change from Timothy Dalton? Uhhh, don’t think so. He doesn’t do much work. This was her payday…and she’ll make money from this somehow.

But, I don’t think that he’ll be getting a good table at Spago’s anymore…or an invitation to almost anything except court. Please understand, I KNOW that when I met him (sober) he could be charming and delightful. Do I think that he is a piece of excrement? Yes. Do I believe that he is an anti everybody? Yep (and other than Asians he also missed middle easterners). Do I think she “deserved” to be hit…never. But she is part of the rat pack that populates our hills, looking for the guy to break up a marriage and/or have a kid together. She just picked the wrong rat.

she could have done all the conniving in the world but he can take full responsibility for that rant. I don’t know anything about her, or their relationship, but what’s with the mudslinging? Would it have been better if she was screaming back at him? Then she wouldn’t be accused of “play acting/setting someone up/passive/aggressive”, I guess. I would call taping the phone call an act of self defense.
