Michael Jackson is Dead

May have also been the $150K/month salary.

The stories seem contradictory. I have read that his son was with him when he collapsed in the living room and I have read that the doctor just happened to find him in bed with a faint pulse. I can’t someone would move him to bed after he collapsed without doing more.

.

Agreed that we should leave the children alone.

I am not sure if the meanness of the media caused him to go so far off the path - but the media has been a part of his life forever. He led an unusual childhood in a time when the media wasn’t following him around like they do with celebrities and politicians. They loved him. He had something of a break as he reached adulthood - where he started making odd choices. Not sure what the cause was, though.

I don’t think the media came down hard on him as truly mean in any hugely negative way until the allegations of child molestation and the peculiar way he lived his life - oxygen chambers, building Neverland, hanging around with kids. Before that, he seemed to be a media darling, and much adored by the media and the celebrity crowd.

Due to the location of Neverland ranch I would be shocked if it was turned into a Graceland. Knowing the location and the community I would say my kid has better odds of getting into Harvard.

It is now being reported that Debbie Rowe was basically a surrogate, and that the babies she carried were via IVF with donor eggs and donor sperm, and are not biologically hers or Michael’s. She was paid very well to do a job, and that is why she plays no role in their lives. YIKES. This may be just rumor, but it is going around. I feel very sorry for the children. They only had MJ, and they had little to no exposure to other children. They were sheltered and lived a reclusive life. No formal schooling, no interactions with the world. And now they are thrown into a mess. How sad. I hope there is enough money to allow them the help that they will need.

So basically Michael Jackson custom-ordered and purchased those children.

“How sad. I hope there is enough money to allow them the help that they will need.”

I don’t think that money is what will determine what help they get. From what I can tell, the Jackson family thinks those kids are normal. Sad.

OK its getting weirder. He may never have legally adopted the children. The first two were conceived during a marraige, but there may be an issue of his legal parenthood if it was an IVF pregnancy with donor sperm. In certain states and in certain cases it is recommended that the parents who take custody formally adopt the children, esp if the marraige ends. And in the case of his third child, if he never legally adopted him, and just has some sort of guardianship, it really gets legally messy if it was a surrogate with donor sperm.

Yikes again. If he really did buy these kids, but never legally adopted them, there will be even more fighting and legal maneuvering over the money, and over their custody. The court could even place them in foster care.

mom60 from your lips to Gods ears. The area is already overrun with wine tasting rooms and tourists every weekend. A former employee of mine lives in the only nearby town. He finally moved because people were continually picnicking on his front lawn and couldn’t grasp that they were on private property! Hopefully our county supervisors will understand that the area is not suitable for a public facility of any kind. (think isolated, windy road, and two small private schools adjoining).
Apparently this Friday there is to be a public viewing of his body. My sympathies to all my friends who live nearby.

So there is supposed to be a public viewing on Friday…he wore so much makeup in life that I imagine he’ll look pretty “natural” in death.

I guess the fact that they’re doing a viewing settles my nagging fear…I was truly worried that all the CPR, etc. they did on him would have made his nose fall off.

We won’t know the specifics on the child custody case until they are revealed, but most states legally recognize the spouse of the mother of the child as the father even if their is no biological connection. Particularly if that is what is put on the birth certificate. Adoption is not necessary in that case.

What is disturbing is that with all of the irregularities and problems that Jackson had regarding the children, he does not seem to have a clear will and clear directive with agreements from the mothers of the children in the event of his death. Given the custody and visitation quarrels he has had, along with payments he has made regarding the children, he had to know that this was a hot issue for his kids should he die or become disabled. His advisors should have known this too.

missypie, the public viewing is near me but I would never consider attending so I can’t give you an update no how he looks.

I just saw some shots of the area around Neverland Ranch on the news and I can’t imagine how those narrow roads will be able to handle the crowds who are likely to descend on the area for this viewing on Saturday. Wow. This does not sound like a wise decision.

Did anyone else hear the reports from the autopsy about his weight and the state of his body? Have they been authenticated? I would hope that the media wouldn’t be reporting these details if they weren’t true, but I’m always a skeptic. If true, I don’t know how any responsible person would have thought he’d be able to perform in 50 shows this summer.

CNN is reporting that MJ’s long term dermatologist is the biological father of the oldest two children. This is the same dermatologist that is being questioned in regards to his possibly being the prescriber of MJ’s narcotics.

I thought the doctor who was being questioned was a cardiologist.

If this was a movie, the reviewers would pan it for asking the audience to suspend reality.

the roads are very narrow…according to our local news though Santa Barbara county officials claim they have not heard from the family regarding anything this weekend.
They also asked people at the gates if they wanted to see Neverland become a Graceland. Of course, everyone was from out of the area and they all said yes. There would be a lot of procedure to cut through because the property is currently zoned agricultural.

Oh my God Missy. Just oh my God. The state needs to take the children, change their lives and find some good family.

Momwaitingforew: The cardiologist was the one in the house. He is saying he was looking after MJ’s overall health, but was not writing for the pain meds, administering the paid meds, or involved in the pain meds. The police have said he is being treated as a witness, but is not the focus of the investigation (although they often say that.) Apparently, the cardiologist may actualy not be the physician involved in supplying or administering the pain meds.

There is focus now on the dermatologist, who has been tending to MJ for 15-20 years.

ebeeee-My natural instinct after 22+ yrs in the area that they would never rezone that land for anything but agriculture. I just hope the county is not so hard up for money that they throw all reason out the window. How are the supervisors going to split on this one? I read the article in the News Press today and I was shocked at how some people in the area think it would be good for business to have Neverland become a tourist attraction.
