Michael Jackson is Dead

I was watching Foxnews and saw Al Sharpton appear before the microphone. He’s another attention whore. It is simply wrong to exploit MJ’s death for your own political purposes.

I think the decision of where Jackson will be buried will be informative of future plans. If he is buried at Neverland, then I think we’ll see it developed as a tourist attraction.

I thought Joe Jackson was already dead. Now that I see his quotes on the matter, I am sorry that I was wrong.

I think there is the potential for a messy custody battle. MJ’s parents are too old to be considered appropriate for the job, and there have been all sorts of allegations about his father Joe and child abuse. Debbie Rowe may or may not have given up parental rights. I am very suspicious that MJ’s first two children do not share his DNA. And while that would not really matter from a legal standpoint as they were conceived during a legal marriage, and he was legally their father, his passing could change everything. If D. Rowe really wants custody, and DNA testing reveals that there is not a genetic link to the Jackson family, it may make it harder for the Jackson’s to claim custody, as courts tend to side with biological parents over grandparents with no biological connection. It will be intersting as to where there is a will, and what he indicates were his intention for the children.

There is an attorney in Palm Beach that is claiming to have prepared a will 8-10 years ago, when MJ and his children spent time at his PB estate. This attorney states that there may be a newer one that supercedes it, and there may not be one.

I just saw Jesse Jackson speaking “on behalf of the family”. I agree that he doesnt put forth the best image. And all this reference to “we” - “we” have questions about the doctor" etc etc. Whats with the “we”? He should say “the family has”… He isnt part of it, and it sounded like he was just hornig in on the publicity again.

Well, at least Jon and Kate got bumped off the news…

Heartbreaking:

"Michael Jackson’s eldest son thought his father was joking around when he collapsed on the living-room floor — but soon stood “in a trance” as the King of Pop’s personal doctor frantically tried to revive him, a family confidant told the New York Post.

“The horror of it all is that Prince thought his dad was just being his dad and clowning, but it was real, and he watched as they worked on him,” said Stacy Brown, a Jackson family biographer who has spoken extensively to the Jackson’s relatives since he died Thursday."

From the same story. What kind of doctor gives CPR on a bed? Even I know that you need a really firm surface for CPR.

"At around 11:30 a.m., Michael was given a shot of Demerol and soon collapsed on the living-room floor, Brown [a Jackson family biographer] said.

“The guard and the doctor picked him up and put him on the bed from the living room, and that’s when they started CPR,” he said."

[JACKO SON’S TRAGIC ‘TRANCE’ - New York Post](<a href=“JACKO SON’S TRAGIC ‘TRANCE’”>JACKO SON’S TRAGIC ‘TRANCE’)

What kind of cardiologist gives up a practice to tend to a pop idol, overseeing his medications that include IV or IM Demerol? Same kind.

Well, I realize my main source here is years of watching ER, but don’t they do CPR on patients in hospitals on hospital beds and gurneys? They don’t move them onto the floor if they are coding. But it’s one thing if the person is on a bed and seconds are ticking by, another to move them into another room.

In seconds they slide a bed board under their back. But there is new data to suggest that it may not matter.

Something very strange here- it would make sense to do CPR on the bed if that was where he collapsed. It does not make sense to lift him from a floor to put him into bed a room away and then do CPR.

Also- why did the guy call Joe Jackson first and not 911 straight away? Also doesn’t make sense.

RIP, hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but should we believe that he died of a heart attack?

The tragedy is not Michael Jackson. The tragedy is those 3 kids of dubious parentage, who have spent their entire lives with …Michael Jackson. What are the chances that they can turn out at all normal? The mom of the first two signed them away to him twice, even though it is questionable that they are even biologically related to Jackson. The 3rd one, “Blanket” seems to have been purchased from an anonymous source.

None of them have ever been to school or have any friends. Their only “friend” has only ever been Michael Jackson. Any time they appear on the streets they have stuff on their faces, veils, masks, or whatever. They live in an amusement park. Their father likes to sleep in the same bed with unrelated boys. Their father, the only “parent”, apparently consumed an entire hospital’s worth of pharmaceuticals every day and was possibly anorexic.

What am I missing here? Is this a harsh assessment? CPS in CA never got involved because…?

And now, who will they live with? Elderly grandparents? Bio-mom of two who really only provided the womb? Hired help?

Thats a really sad story, NSM, if we can rely on the NY Post for accurate information.

A little side levity… if appropriate. I scanned the article and first thought it said a seurity “dog” was named Tippy, 'til I got to the part where it said he called Joe Jackson and 911. That woulda been one spiffy guard dog !

I also think we are going to have more questions than answers in the next few days…

These are innocent children. They had nothing to do with the sad circumstances of their father’s life and choices. I think meanness towards the children is inexcusable, and it’s the kind of meanness from the media that caused MJ to go so far off the path.

That Jackson died from cardiac arrest is very likely. It’s what caused that arrest that is problematic.

The doctor in question is from Houston. His practice is in one of the oldest parts of the city, which is also predominantly poor African-American. He has had major malpractice issues and was seriously in debt. I’m guessing that’s why he was willing to quit his practices (the other one was in Nevada) to tend to MJ.

As for the children, I feel terrible for them, particularly for the oldest boy if he was really present when his dad collapsed and died. I can’t see the biological mom going for custody of the oldest two- unless the estate starts turning around. Was she even a visitor in these kids lives? And I would hate to think that the three would be separated.

As for cardiac arrest- it was clearly not the result of heart disease or the autopsy would have revealed that. The fact that they need toxicology results augurs for drugs of some sort in his system.

I haven’t read all the posts here, but has anyone mentioned a nanny? One of my friends heard that Michael wants his nanny to get custody of the kids. I hadn’t even heard there was a nanny, but I guess he’s got about every other type of employee.

Perhaps one of the physicians here can address this. I heard that even if a patient goes into cardiac arrest and gets CPR immediately that 1/3 of those patients cannot be revived. Is this true, and what would make those people unable to respond to resucitation?

and regarding the Nanny, her name was Grace but i think she was fired last year? but i also heard she wasnt so who knows.
