Actually closets like that are now very popular in the real estate market. It is for the expensive stuff and also a panic room in case anyone breaks in, it was big enough for him to hide in.

I only saw a portion of the Matt Lauer, from the kitchen to Master bedroom part. Here’s my question, I thought Neverland was foreclosed on and MJ no longer owned it, obviously he must have because the Jackson family was in it after MJ’s death.

I was listening to talk radio and they were saying that MJ spent as fast as he earned it, thus he was in constant debt. Now that he is dead, he can’t spend it, thus probaly from the DVD he made 2 weeks ago and his music royalties his estate will be solvent in a few weeks.

The one thing I don’t get is wwhy would he leave his children to his mother, who stood silently while Joe caused so much pain and anquish upon himself? Why put your children in that situation? He should have left them directly to Diana. Also why is Diana the back up and not another family member?

I know the room can have perfectly legitimate uses. You just couldn’t see it and not wonder.

Apparently, Neverland is owned by a private company and the Michael Jackson Family Trust. I was struck by how it had been cleared out. I guess I didn’t realize he moved out and never returned after the trial.

Another thing mentioned this morning is that not only is there footage of the concert rehearsals and dancer auditions, but that he’d been recording music with Akon and other big-name present-day singers. His estate can still make loads of money.

Yeah, it’s odd to think that no relatives other than his mother were named as possible guardians. How old is Joe Jackson? I’m sure he thought the dad would precede the mom in death.

I heard she is 80, so I am sure he is is older. I also heard that when it was going into foreclosure he moved everything out years ago. I think it was several months ago where they had aerial shots with big time lenses showing how the property had deterioriated, weeds and bushes overgrown. I am sure that they will try to make neverland the graceland of the wast coast.

The only reason I want to see the auditions/rehearsals is to see if he really was as frail as has been reported. I heard he weighed only 112 lbs at his death.

When I was growing up, abusive parenting was rampant. It was considered just fine to beat your kid. I had an older, gentle father and was fortunate to miss that experience, but I was an exception rather than the rule in our community.

Many of those parents are now enlightened, mellow grandparents. People do change. Many have quit smoking, eat different diets, have a whole new outlook on race, religion, handicaps, etc, and child raising techniques.

I also remember that to deal with some issues at school, you had to get into a physical fight. Now days, if you even strike back after being hit, you are equally in trouble. Things have changed a great deal though they need to change more.

Here’s the story on Neverland and the foreclosure. It was supposed to be going into foreclosure. A local guy around these parts bought it in partnership with MJ’s Family Trust. His company, Colony Capital, has put a few million into it recently. No one seems to know what they are going to do with it now.

Yes, he moved out right after the trial. The Santa Barbara County Sheriffs served search warrants on the property and really went through it with a fine tooth comb in conjunction with the charges back then. He felt violated by all that and never had the same feeling about Neverland. He did not live there after the trial. The area is very beautiful and very secluded. It is easy to see why he felt it was truly his sanctuary up until the search warrants and the aftermath.

cpt, I don’t think Joe falls into that realm. This is a guy at the BET awards was pushing his record company when discussing his sons death. He even said we are all fine…huh? 2 days after his death and the family is fine?

It looks like a series of poorly-informed physicians/health professionals will be held accountable for his death. There is absolutely no reason he should have had propofol in the house. If his insomnia was that bad, he should have been hospitalized so that he could be closely monitored.

NY REP: MICHAEL JACKSON WAS A PERVERT
WASHINGTON - Long Island Rep. Peter King lashed out Michael Jackson, calling the king of pop “a pervert” and “child molester” in a two-minute video posted on the internet.

I do miss living in NY. Nothing like speaking whats on your mind…

Nothing like it. Wow…saw the coverage yesterday of the underground bunker the cops are using for their center of operations…maybe now the tourists I was talking to this weekend can understand how it could never have happened in our little town near Neverland. They are expecting huge crowds and have a complete system in place to deal with them.

On one report I heard of the planning for the memorial, they happened to mention that Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus starts a run at the Staples Center tomorrow. How fitting.

alwaysamom, the elephant parade from the rail station to the Staples Center was supposed to happen at 3 AM in the morning. Early enough so that there wouldn’t be a problem between the elephants and any fans, though who knows how early people were arriving?

I don’t understand why people think Michael Jackson was just “another performer” whom we should just ignore like he wasn’t important.

This man throughout his entire life mesmerized the world. He could sing notes perfectly as young as 8 years old! He set the standard for what a concert stage performance should be. Have you ever seen his robot dance (Soul Train), Moon Walk (Motown’s 25th Anniversary), and his Defying-Gravity Motion (Smooth Criminal music video)? He did and invented things that many of us could not imagine were possible. He had over ten #1 hits, and among them the best selling album of all time (Thriller). Dance clubs are still playing his songs from the “Off the Wall” album era. Have you ever listened to the lyrics of his song, “Man in the Mirror”? What about “We Are the World?” He was among the first to perform a humanitarian concert, long before LiveAIDS concerts were even in existence. He was also a philanthropist, gaving away millions of his money towards humanitarian efforts and scholarships so that young people could get an education. People from around the world are mourning his loss because he was a major global brand (the moment you hear his voice or see his dance routine, you know it’s Michael Jackson.) He had a major cultural impact on everyone. Without him, MTV would not be where it is today.

He NEVER molested those kids. Those parents who filed those lawsuits just wanted some of his money and told their kids to lie. The jury acquitted him of all charges, let it go.

To say that Michael Jackson was just “another performer” is VERY insulting to his legacy.

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his achievements included multiple Guinness World Recordsincluding the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of over 750 million records worldwide.
