Michael Jackson is Dead

Guess you don’t know any good trusts and estates, tax or bankruptcy lawyers, crescent? Cartera got it right.

Disney won’t touch that again. Ever. Any taint, and it detracts from the Happiest Place on Earth image.

Heck, they don’t even let employees have facial hair.

RatedPG - In case you havn’t noticed, he never was found guilty. Yeah he was weird, but I don’t think he ever sexually abused any young boys. He was naive, and greed stricken women took advantage of the situation by suing him for what he was worth at the opportunity.

I heard that the top 15 selling CDs on Amazon today were Michael Jackson ones. Also heard that Farrah Fawcett made a deal where she got 10% of every one of those iconic posters of herself sold. That alone made her a very rich woman. She turned out to be a better business woman and actress than anyone could have imagined when they watched the Charlie’s Angels show.

call trumpet, you’re entitled to believe what you want. Is it so hard to believe a mega-star got away with something illegal? It was proven he had boys in his bed, gave them alcohol, and showed them porn.

Naive?

It is being reported that BAGS of prescription drugs were removed from the home by the police, and that he was receiving IV Demerol and IV Dipravan as needed for pain. IV Dipravan is an anesthetic agent, and is never used in a home situation, even with a doctor on site. It is not even used for hospice patients. The report is that he was on, to name a few, Zoloft, Xanax, Demeral IV, Dipravan IV. My guess, either seratonin syndrome due to the cocktail, or he just plain stopped breathing due to respiratory depression. This mirrors Elvis Presley’s death. With the connection of Lisa Marie, it is just eerie.

Ebony and ivory, live together in perfect harmony,
Side by side on my keyboard, oh Lord, why don’t we?

gone too soon (although for Ryan White… i think it applies)

also listen to childhood

"call trumpet, you’re entitled to believe what you want. Is it so hard to believe a mega-star got away with something illegal? It was proven he had boys in his bed, gave them alcohol, and showed them porn.

Naive?"

I agree. Sadly, there are parents who’d have been thrilled to have had a wealthy megastar pay attention to their kids for any reason.

Same thing here. Every dance competition and recital I have attended (and there have been many) features some dance with “Thriller” music. It really is brilliant.

This article [Michael Jackson leaves $1 billion in assets, $500 million in unpaid debts](<a href=“Stock Portfolio & Tracker - Yahoo Finance”>Stock Portfolio & Tracker - Yahoo Finance) claims he had a $billion in assets and $500 million in debt. However, it references the value of Neverland, which I thought was foreclosed on a while back…
THis article http://www.reuters.com/article/musicNews/idUSTRE55P0Q520090626?sp=true</a> says

Yeah, and O.J was never found guilty of murder either.

For all those who kid themselves into thinking he actually didn’t do it, ask yourself one question: “He was acquitted, so would you send your own little boy for a sleep-over with Michael?”

The difference is that Michael Jackson is dead so the music will come to exist separately from his legal troubles. The estate’s situation is similar to Elvis’ but it remains to be seen if there is anyone as savvy as Priscilla to take charge. In light of how the Jackson parents destroyed their son’s life, it would be a shame or them to get custody of the grandchildren. But of course, they’ve spent so many years riding the gravy train that they won’t get off now.

I don’t think people are giving MJ a “pass” on his behavior. I think that in light of his unexpected death, they are perhaps being a little sensitive at the moment. People are celebrating his music right now, and perhaps waiting to address the darker side of his life (drug/child abuse, etc) when the dust settles a bit. Even Universal studios decided to remove a clip from Sasha Baron Cohen’s newly released movie “Bruno” (debuting last night) that made fun of Michael Jackson [Michael Jackson Jokes Cut From ‘Bruno’ - Inside Movies Blog](http://www.moviefone.com/insidemovies/2009/06/26/michael-jackson-jokes-cut-from-bruno/?icid=main|htmlws-main|dl2|link4|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moviefone.com%2Finsidemovies%2F2009%2F06%2F26%2Fmichael-jackson-jokes-cut-from-bruno%2F)

I would imagine that someone is making plans right now to restore Neverland. Just as Graceland played a part in the Elvis enterprise, Jackson’s home could do the same for his estate. Can you imagine how many people now would pay to see it? The kink could be zoning.

ok jym, maybe “pass” is the wrong word. I just find the outpouring of sadness and grief a bit over the top … is anyone really shocked by this death? He has been messing around with his body for years and took countless drugs. Again, I agree he was an amazing talent in the past. His more recent way of life and the pain he inflicted on others for his own self satisfaction tend to overshadow his greatness, imo

LOL! I first read this as, “The kinky could be zoning.”

^^ Agreed, RatedPG. I think even Liza Minelli, who is certainly whacky in her own right, said (and I am paraphrasing) that she was glad people were paying tribute to him now, as there would be a lot coming to light as this unfolds in the near future.

CNN just said they’e be airing a tribute in a few days-- I didnt catch the exact line, but it said something like “his tragic death, his troubled life…” That is what I think we’ll be getting… especially when the quantity and list of drugs in his system is reported in the autopsy report in 4-6 weeks (or however long the toxicology reports take). By then the shock and the tribute hooplah will have died down. Right now, to focus on that aspect of his life before he’s even planted in the ground is just a little insensitive, IMO.

I agree with cartera- that making Neverland a facility like Graceland, open to the public, is likely what will happen, and will be a way to structure debt repayment and funding for his kids. I also think that when the custody battles heat up, we’ll hear more about his dads abusive history, etc. Stay tuned. This stuff is grist for the gossip hound mill.

As an aside, I think people are still, for the moment, focusing more on why he died than how he lived. But that will come soon. I’ll bet someone will be rushing to publish a tell-all biography in the next few weeks.

I think it’s more than likely that we will also see past and current employees coming out of the woodwork to sell information. I’m sure some of them will take the chance of breaching their confidentiality clause for the money and hope the attorneys don’t come after them.
