I’ve been fond of most of our First Ladies; I LOVE Michelle Obama. I hope Melania Trump makes us proud also.
If I was a child I would want to be a child of Michelle and Barack - I can sit and listen to both of them for DAYS.
It was as usual, a wonderful speech by Michelle - only topped by her emotion near the end as she clearly was feeling the moment of her last public speech as the nation’s first lady.
I have decided that my only solace in her leaving her role as First Lady is that I am so, so hopeful and truly believing that she will be active in a myriad of issues - and her voice will continue to be heard.
And if anyone messes with her White House garden in a negative way, they are going to have to deal with ME.
I am not in any way, shape, or form ready to lose this first family.
Michelle Obama will forever be an idol to me and I cannot wait to see what the Obama girls do.
She’s the best. She’s inspirational and warm. I already miss her.
I am so sad about the Obamas leaving the White House … for many reasons of course but what outstanding role models for their daughters and for all our sons and daughters.
My g/f says she is not I treats I joking th Women’s March. She is ready to go for an issue that is upfront and foes against her ideas. Making sense to me.
Such a classy family
Zuh?
Sorry, Marvin. I know several women flying to DC. This one friend says she will wait to,protest when an actual ruling comes out that she finds offensive. Just another point of view.
I couldn’t help but think of this classic (and now politically incorrect) Airplane scene:

translates to:
MIchelle Obama is such a great speaker. Whether you agree with Obama / Democratic politics or not, it would be hard to not agree with her messages.
Such a good speaker that even some from the other side like to use her words.
I think we’ve had a lot of very good First Ladies. Thank you Michelle Obama.
One of the best…
So, if we could choose a future for her, what would it be? I know there’s been talk in Hollywood about opportunities in media, e.g., for her hosting a political talk show, say, but word on the street is that she’s turned those opportunities down. She says she isn’t interested in running for office. What would we like to see her do? Her momentum as an influential public figure has been building; I would imagine that she would want to take advantage of that rising momentum to maximize her influence, but doing what? There will undoubtedly be a memoir; but what beyond that? [not sure if this is too political. I’m more interested in hearing what people think highly influential people can do to maximize their influence, when they essentially have the choice of anything in the world that does not involve a presidential appointment.]
^^This is a good question and ponder. Would love to hear others thoughts.
If I could, I’d give her freedom. Freedom to open the car windows, to go shopping at Target, to hang out at a bookstore and grab a drink with friends at a neighborhood bar.

I’m sure she will. I can’t think of 1 first lady who hasn’t done a good job. Imagine what kind of stress they have to put up with. Always in the spot light and people everywhere looking to find something to criticize. Whether it’s something they say or what they are wearing… and for the rest of their lives they will be watched… Maybe not as much as when they are in the White House but still they will never be totally out of the public’s view. I can’t imagine what they must put up with on a regular basis.
I would love for her to run for president. I know it isn’t going to happen, but I can dream.
I would like to believe that bigger and better things will come from Michelle Obama when unencumbered by her first lady title. We’ve already gotten a snippet of what could be in her latest speeches.
I never understood this. Why would Michelle Obama automatically be a better candidate for President than the hundreds of millions of other people that haven’t held public office? Or do you mean that she would learn the ropes in the same way that Hillary did by spending several years in Congress and as Secretary of State?
