Michigan State University Broad College of Business Direct Admit 2024

This changed and changed back for my son as well!

What did it say earlier?

Don’t know exact wording but generally that decisions had been sent out and how the secondary pathway worked. His status remained business preference.

Seemed odd because it said all invitations had been sent and referred to secondary pathway but according to the Broad website there’s 2nd round of invitation in early April. Portal message is no longer there.

Here’s a screenshot I forgot I took this morning

Yeah, that looks like it was mistakenly sent out, since the next opportunity to be accepted direct admission will be in April.

I guess yesterdays change in portal was a mistake–my son got an email with a portal change this morning and got in to the business school. Good luck to everyone.

Congrats!!

Congrats everyone : )

No update for my son. I wish we would have been aware of the Direct Admit process prior to applying and would have tweaked his essay a bit to demonstrate business interest better. Future applicants - take note!!

Great share for future applicants : ) We emphasized business in our Why Wisconsin essay…if only they had additional essays for the DA process. My son’s personal essay was very specific 5 year journey that changed his life…business didn’t really fit into the narrative. Oh well, onward and upward…wherever that may be.

Broad admit: Supply Chain Mgt.
OOS/ TO / 3.8W ; dual enrollment Business pathway: OSU-Fisher -remains first choice
2 year part time job bussing tables at pizza restaurant… essay connected
classroom accounting and management with real life customer service and inventory management tasks at work.
Admitted: MSU / ASU / U ARK ; I.U. (Kelley?petition) ; PSU (DUS to UnivPark)
Deferred: UT-K , OSU, CU Boulder.
Rejected: UGA ; UT-Austin (waitlisted for ā€œTake World by the Hornsā€)
Awaiting: CA schools.

Hello - new to this thread but looking for advice, my son has several college admissions already but has his sights set on MSU Broad, he didn’t get first round invite, I’m trying to tell him not to be discouraged and that there is still a second round as well as he could still attend MSU and apply later on after he is there. Any insights on how many invitations go 1st round vs 2nd round, any insights on attending and applying later if this is really ā€œtheā€ school. Just trying to navigate all of this as I am mom of 4 but this is our first going off to college

I have a junior at Michigan State (not Broad) and just wanted to put a plug in for the parents group on FB. Get the right one - the one with ā€œGo Greenā€ in lights is run by the university and has staff answering questions. There is a ton of information there about primary and secondary admission to Broad. It is a relatively new process but parents speak about secondary admission and what happened if that didn’t work in their favor. The dean of undergraduate studies often answers questions, as well as folks from financial aid, honors college, etc. For a very large university, their staff is very accommodating in the group. The dean recently had a long-ish post about Broad admissions.

I can answer general questions about Michigan State (not Broad) if anyone is interested.
