Middlebury Class of 2024

March 21st

Lets bring this thread back to life! how are y’all waiting for decisions

I can’t believe decisions are finally coming out on Saturday!

i am so nervous it is one of my absolute top choices but i don’t know if i stand a chance :frowning:

So nervous! I was deferred ED2 but I wrote a LOCI and another update… hoping that pushes me through, Midd is def my top choice

Midd is a top choice, but I feel like I am lacking academically for the school.
SAT:1300
ACT:28
GPA (unweighted): 3.86
I had an amazing interview. The interviewer was very kind to me and gave me a lot of information on the school. I love how environmentally aware they are, their sense of community, and the theatre department. Any insight?

Just got an email reminding us of the decision release time! Good luck everyone!

did everyone get this in the email: “Applicants are strongly encouraged to go online to learn of their admission decision. No additional mailings will be sent to applicants for whom we are not able to offer admission.” or is it a sign of rejection? i’m probably being paranoid lol but it doesn’t sound good

I got that too. I’m pretty sure they send that to everyone but I’m not certain.

I got that message too.

It’s the same email sent to all applicants.

Wishing everyone the best of luck on Saturday!

i got that email and got in ED a couple of days after it was sent, it doesn’t mean that you’re rejected!

36 hours till decision release! Anxiously waiting!

Less than 24 hours away! Very nervous but expecting rejection

I got waitlisted by four schools (Bowdoin, Bates, Amherst, Swarthmore) and I’m scared that it might be for yield protect because it happened so much so I’m literally thinking of calling Midd admissions before the end of the day and telling them that I’d 100% attend if accepted because it’s definitely in my top two (Midd and Williams) and I will be devastated if I don’t get either of them. I’m desperate at this point.

I know the waiting is so very stressful, but please do not call Midd or Williams Admissions before decisions are out.

No one really knows, but it’s reasonable to think that there will be more schools going to their waitlists this year because of covid-19.

Do you have any acceptances yet, such as at an affordable safety? Did you apply for financial aid at the schools you named?

Good luck on your upcoming decisions.

@Mwfan1921 I did not apply for financial aid, and I hope that would help me get off a waitlist. I am going to send additional rec letters to those schools and write my own letters of interest.
I was really disappointed that there was no supplement for Midd so I couldn’t write about how much I loved the school – I was considering ed2 and mentioned that in my interview so I hope that helps. I think I would probably try to make an agreement with the admissions office like that if I were waitlisted again.

Being full pay will be an advantage if and when any of the schools where you were waitlisted have to use them.

Definitely send a LOCI to all the school where you were waitlisted and include any updates. I am not sure telling Midd that you were thinking about doing ED2 but didn’t (especially as a full pay) will help you…my concern is it could even harm you.

You will hear soon enough.

You should be very proud of your HS achievements, and the college where you ultimately attend will be fortunate to have you. You will succeed wherever you go.

Good luck.

Middlebury is need blind, right?
