Midwest Students Need Not Apply

If you’re from the Midwest and have anything less than a perfect GPA or test score, you’re wasting you money applying to University of Virginia. They’ll have plenty of excuses for why you weren’t accepted but the facts (statistics) speak for themselves.

OP venting is something everyone needs to do to get out their frustrations, but blanket statements with bitter overtones is not the way to do it. I know for a fact that UVA does admit students from the midwest that do not have perfect GPA’s nor standardized test scores. Are they just as competitive as the stats from students from California, New York and Texas? Definitely. In fact you would be surprised at the level of student you must be from VA to even get in.

I hope you can move past this and be content with wherever you have or will land.

^^ Agree! 10 char

[UVa - Enrollment by State](http://avillage.web.virginia.edu/iaas/instreports/studat/dd/enrl_state.htm)

Enrollment from Virginia has declined steadily (over the past 3 years) and most of the mid western states on the list have shown increases. OP, you should aim before you shoot.

Dang, already denied before EA admission results are out. UVA is getting quite competitive nowadays.

The OP does bring up a good point though. If you are OOS and plan on applying to UVA you better have the stats to back you up.
