<p>I think that’s the difference between Tyler Swift and Miley Cyrus—Tyler has decided on her public persona and while she may not stick with it forever she isn’t having an identity crisis on national media while wearing underwear and twerking (I know some of you will have to go look that up).</p>
<p>MOfWC, I happen to like Taylor Swift, too. One of the reasons is exactly what you said - she might behave like a teenager at times, but she cares about what kind of overall image she projects to her young fans.</p>

I can’t agree. First of all, that video is totally faked–you aren’t hearing her sing live in the “backyard”. It’s a studio recording using all the usual shenanigans to enhance her voice. And even if you buy that she has a good “country” voice (I personally can’t stand the twangy stuff), it’s just excruciating when used in pop music.
She doesn’t write or produce her songs, just caterwauls them.</p>

<p>07DAD - part of today’s fun has been reading all the critics and apologists comments. Even Brooke Shields chimed in on The Today Show.</p>
<p>My D showed it to me this morning and it was just sad to watch. Miley still has a kind of boyish body style- kind of of pre-pubescent looking. Before she stripped down and she still had the nude colored bikini bottom sticking out from under the bear outfit, she reminded me of those little girls you see who are taking a dance class and still wear regular underpants under their leotards so the underpants show in the leg openings. It was all kind of creepy and disturbing. On top of it all, Miley has a horrible voice.</p>
<p>I’m no Taylor Swift hater but she should be more careful what she’s saying when there’s a camera on her. It was pretty clear what she said when one of her multitude of ex’s was onstage last night to present an award.</p>
<p>teriwtt–you really need to go to youtube and check out the 1956 Milton Berle show with Elvis on it. This is the one that started Elvis nationwide to the Steve Allen show and then to the Ed Sullivan Show (the Ed S 1956 Elvis is on youtube as well and Elvis’ pelvis was shown).</p>
<p>There was the same “end of the world as we know it” stuff as Elvis skyrocketed!! </p>
