Miley Cyrus at the VMAs

I like Taylor. But if I were a guy I’d steer clear of dating her

It’s popular to mock Miley Cyrus now and she certainly didn’t cover herself in glory, but many of her judgmental professional peer audience are enormous hypocrites. Rihanna in particular has no right to judge anyone for anything vulgar or outr

I think there’s such a thing as “attention addiction” and Cyrus has it. Today she is the topic on every media outlet, even NPR! I think we’re playing into her addiction by discussing her here. (Yes, I’m aware of the irony.)

On a tangential note, why is it the the hyper sexual young female stars appeal almost exclusively to female and gay male fans? I don’t get what that means.

She actually said “Shut the EFF up.”

Oh there is art in music out there, but try getting it played on the radio or any air time. I agree we are only exposed to a smaller segment of the industry. It seems it is being runned by young 20 somethings who are keeping it pretty tight.

I have to agree with post #59 regarding Swift. She and Cyrus exhibited different forms of unclassy moves last night. I can see why Cyrus did it though. She was desperate to be the one most remembered in last night’s VMA. The only way she can ensure everyone talks about her instead of Timberlake, Swift, Perry or Gaga is to do gross twerks all over the stage. In fairness to her, it seems to be a popular dance craze for some teens for awhile now. But I think Beyonce does classy twerks. I think it was the combination of Miley’s tongue, grimace, crazy looking eyes, huge foam finger and twerks that made the whole thing vulgar. Most likely my gym will soon offer Twerkcercise.

Homely and gross.

While I know there was some “bear” motif going on, I really thought Miley’s body suit was a mouse and she was trying to give a giant finger to Mickey Mouse & Disney. Not that I can blame her, former Disney kid stars don’t have a great track records as adults.

And as far as dance moves go, what is the difference between twerking and the “jersey turnpike” that Deena & Snooki did on jersey shore? Looks the same to me.

“On a tangential note, why is it the the hyper sexual young female stars appeal almost exclusively to female and gay male fans? I don’t get what that means.”

Because pop music fans tend identify with the stage persona. They are projecting their own selves on the performance.

Bwah! I fear you’re right!

Both Swift and Cyrus are at the top of charitable giving.

Twerkcercise–coming to a senior citizen center near you…If I could just reach my toes…

Seems Miley would have no problem touching her toes. With obesity rate of up to 26% for young adults (18-25) Miley at least is setting a good example with exercise and weight control.

So she’s a size 0.5? Really? I wouldn’t put her up as any role model for fitness either. Seems like the swing is too fat or too skinny these days–don’t hold either one up as a role model for the other. But again, sigh, another thread…

What is not physically fit about her?

I’d just as soon watch Miley twerk as listen to Taylor whine about her teenage boyfriends.

Actually, I think she’s is very poorly toned for someone so small. I’d rather be built like Beyonce.

^ YUP cartera… that’s the choice that Viacom gives us. Too too awful.

ok … Twerk V Whine …discuss

poorly toned? I guess each to their own.

I’m going to pass on both!
