I’m pretty sure the Miss Universe pageant is rigged in favor of Earth. It is always the humans who win.
What is the point of a pageant?
If any of y’all are/were fans of Mad Men, Tom and Lorenzo wrote great blogs about the fashion in that show.
I think the reigning Ms. Universe could really have made a name for herself outside the pageant world if she suggested sharing the crown. She would make history in a really good way - if the pageant administrators would agree to it. The pageant attracts a lot of attention but it all dies down pretty quick - I could not tell you who was crowned last year or the year before. Sharing the crown because of this snafu would keep both of these women trending throughout the year.
It’s to entertain (hair-pulling/clothes-ripping cat-fights are optional) and score prize money & promotional endorsement contracts.

Those costumes are crazy. So many wings and feathers ans what looks like a dead swan (or goose?) On one girl’s head. Good Lord! What are the designers smoking?!!
