Miss USA Pageant: POST YOUR TOP FIFTEEN

THE WINNER MISS USA: MICHIGAN…Congratulations

I didn’t watch this whole thing. In fact, not more than 5 minutes of it.

But I did notice 4 blondes plus one winner. Do you think she won because of her answer: that she had to sell her car to participate in the competition? Or was it something else? What is her nationality?

Oh, for God’s sake. I’m sure you thought that was funny. It wasn’t. The only thing that shocks me is that anyone here would actually think that this kind of antediluvian spectacle is worth taking seriously. Or that anything having to do with that repulsive old lecher Donald Trump is worth watching.

She is lebanese (so am I), it would be a first for someone from the middle east to win.

A little intolerant, surely.

My comment, obviously, was a response to the Johnny Weir comment. Besides, I may be shocked, but I’m not trying to stop anyone from watching!

Since Michigan won, it is obvious the question answers did not count for very much.

Miss Va should’ve won… yes, I am obviously biased.

Didn’t see it. But I’m guessing she said something to the effect that the most important thing is “world peace.”

I couldn’t agree more. The only thing more repulsive to me are those beauty pageants for little girls. Very scary, imo.

I agree with post #29.

Isn’t this the contest in which the women posed in lngerie for pictures? If so, I imagine that many Muslims are embarrassed, not proud of her win or participation.

“The 26-year-old from Dearborn, Michigan, was crowned Miss USA on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pageant-watchers say Fakih, of Lebanese descent, is thought to be the first Arab-American and Muslim to wear the crown, The Detroit Free Press reports.”

ditto!!!

Repulsive? Repulsive: hideous: so extremely ugly as to be terrifying; “a hideous scar”; “a repulsive mask”. The act of repelling or the condition of being repelled; An extreme dislike of something, or hostility to something(?)
–Oh no…

Not at all in the Miss USA pageant…There was grace, elegance, camaraderie, diversity…and the candidates looked beautiful! Beautiful representation from all the States…great job and nice evening.
Very refreshing…no killings, no weapons, no perversion, no cursing, no yelling… for a change!

Oh yes. It’s all a matter of opinion, obviously.

[PIC: New Miss USA Works a Stripper Pole | Story | Wonderwall](http://wonderwall.msn.com/movies/pic-new-miss-usa-works-a-stripper-pole-1552345.story?gt1=28135)

Nice… not!

“no weapons, no perversion, no cursing, no yelling”
Well obviously there were no cameras back stage.

I don’t repel easily.

i like raw ( fresh) oysters, tequila shooters, loud rock music( if it is Pearl Jam) and working outside all day.

But I dont understand the time and money spent on beauty pageants.
They are an anachronism- wasn’t Rush Limbaugh a judge last year?
Ya- he is real relevant .

Just women who were judged like pieces of meat and who had to pose in lingerie as part of the competition.

I don’t watch TV, so don’t find beauty contests refreshing due to the lack of violence and cursing. But when I did watch TV, I favored programs like “Jeopardy.” :)

I’m sooo impressed by what Miss USA represents. What a role model for women. Maybe CC members’ daughters should aspire to such a position.

From the link in #35:

“Before Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA Sunday night, she earned another title: grand prize winner of a Detroit radio show’s “Stripper 101” contest.
Fakih, 24, the first Arab-American to take the crown, did not remove any clothes for the “Mojo In The Morning” competition, held at the Coliseum Gentleman’s Club in 2007.
She won jewelry, gift cards, adult toys and a stripper pole for home use…”

And I agree with what DonnaL wrote. Why anyone cares about Donald Trump is beyond me.

" The only thing that shocks me is that anyone here would actually think that this kind of antediluvian spectacle is worth taking seriously. Or that anything having to do with that repulsive old lecher Donald Trump is worth watching."

Probably not a lot of posts from men who were studying the photos to pick their top 10…it’s tough to type with just your left hand.

Nobody watches a pageant to see Donald Trump.

“But I dont understand the time and money spent on beauty pageants.”

I kinda like beauty pageants, but don’t understand the time and money spent on:

cigarettes and cigars
earrings on men
more than 1 set of earrings on women
motorcycles
fancy fingernails
tattoos and piercings
men wearing sandals
excessive photos of people used as decorations in houses
guys who spend all weekend manicuring their lawns
Yale
sports cars
auto/motorcycle/horse racing (maybe if they were all done simultaneously on the same track it would be interesting, but…)
The music of Elton John
Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Pfeiffer, Demi Moore, Orlando Bloom, and Charlize Theron
