Mistakenly accepted admission offer,

So a while ago I mistakenly accepted my admission offer at the University of Iowa. I didn’t have to pay a admission fee because the school waived it for me since my application fee was also waived. Its been a while and I never did anything about mistakenly accepting admission offer since I’am not under a contract and would like to keep the school a option because its a really great school and I also received scholarships. I know students accept admission offers frequently but if on a schools waiting list and find out they were accepted in June opt out… with this I’m assuming many are experience in these situations.

Any ideals? Is the thought just to only opt out if I don’t get accepted elsewhere that I prefer to attend the the best way to deal with the situation? Thanks.

It’s not a big deal. Unless you applied ED, it’s fine to opt out if you get a better offer. In fact, unless you applied ED, you don’t need to accept/reject acceptance offers until May 1, and after that, you still can withdraw your offer. You just would lose any deposit you’ve paid.

Congratulations on getting an acceptance and scholarships already!

Oh great, thanks.
