MIT Interviews

Waiting to know the admits to MIT this year

Me too.

Here…
MIT Admits:

 1. Akshat Bubna
 2. Sagnik Saha
 3. Kishore Chandra Patra

As far as I know they took 3 or 4 but I could be mistaken.

Lol
So MIT is just going to reject even medalists randomly.
Nice going.

Not randomly. Akshat was the most accomplished medalist in the sense that he qualified for IMOTC and won IOI and then had gone for ISEF and GSF.

Sagnik was the only silver olympiad medalist (as far as I know)

I dont know about Kishore. The decisions were fair considering they only look at academic standings in research and olympiads for applicants from India.

Thank you!

Nevermind, I’m dumb

So…anyone from CC got into MIT??
And yeah @Abhi27nav …did you check you Uchicago results? Lol…sorry for going off topic again!

So looks like MIT is very selective even among interviewees. Do you think the same applies for Harvard? And did Kishore get an interview?

Kishore had a skype interview. MIT interviewed around 40 kids Harvard around 5-7. You can make your own predictions.

Do you know if these MIT admits also interviewed for Harvard?

Bubna got an interview
Bubna’s already made it to Stanford, Caltech, MIT and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets into every college he applied to, considering his profile.

Woah that’s amazing! Hope Harvard admits all its interviewees :stuck_out_tongue: Probably not happening but still XD

After getting MIT Akshat withdrew all applications except princeton and harvard. Love him for that.

@Qwerty1739- To which other colleges has he applied to? Did he need fin aid? I don’t want him to be competing with me!

Akshat Bubna=GOD

And why does he still have apps in Pton and Harvard? He has already made it to the best STEM schools!

He doesnt need aid but he has applied for aid after getting Stanford. He had applied to 6 others but after getting MIT he withdrew Yale, Yale NUS, Berkeley and Cornell.

@BetterThanBest his research advisor wants him to go to princeton and harvard is harvard.

I am having some trouble understanding the timeline of olympiads- so when they are at the end of class 11th (Dec-Jan) do they give it or when at the end of 12th (Dec Jan ) period?
I ask this because the international levels are at june-October and deadlines are Jan.
Do they miss a year( i.e. The year after they give boards or…?)
