Congrats nicoliolioli!! I’ll see you at Boston this summer (that is if American Airlines will fix my ticket ;sjfoeiisfjd!!!)

relax ansar… my stats aren’t brilliant either!! I think my EC’s and suffocating course work this year are what saved me You never know! btw. what are ya’lls extra curriculars?

@Melody224
cool! its nice to meet someone else who speaks more than English!! I’m currently fluent in English, Swedish, & Amharic (“ethiopian”), coherent and conversational in Spanish & Korean, literate in Arabic. What languages do you speak/understand??

o.O having two mites threads is a bit… hard to follow…
hmm for me i’m a music geek. like i applied to carnegie mellon for their music program but idk bout that until… may…T_T
so my extracurriculars are flute mainly, violin, tennis, taekwondo (korean martial art tis family business), and all the lovely academic clubs… nhs, acdec, debate yea…

I used to speak spanish fluently, but then we moved from Puerto Rico to the mainland US. I can still completely understand spanish, I just can’t speak it back. I also know a very limited amount of Hawaiian.

OMG UR IN ACDEC!!! AAAAAH!
It’s AWESOME to meet a fellow decathalete! I’m the captain of my psychotic yet lovable team and ur KOREAN!!! muhahahaa! You will be my asian buddy this summer! I can’t live without my asians… I have realized that all my friends (except my best buddy whose pakistani which is technically asian but… not east asian) are asian! its really weird… they’ve even dubbed me the “honorary” asian since I eat their food, speak their language, and go to korean town to get my school supplies!! No wonder you got in, ur ec’s are pretty solid! You’re making me feel bad… “must join more clubs, must join more clubs” naah consistency is what matters :)

xD i’m actually half korean my dad is korean he’s the 9th dan that brought tkd to our family. my mom is taiwanese though she’s a 7th dan even though she’s only 5 ft.
yay! honorary azn! AZ doesn’t have a korean town D; we have a mini azn culture center and tha’s about it. >> i just joined acdec this year though :o. first year decathlete. since you are so azn you must have been immersed into the cuteness of azn stuff and dramas!~ ^-^

omg i looove pho! i had 5 vietnamese brothers well they were my foster brothers. though they all left and got married and such before i started jr high… pho… is yummmyyy…i want some now…

dang, that’s awesome drosophyllum. I’m currently trying to learn Swahili over the internet, it’s not going well lol. If only Rosetta Stone was less expensive…

@nicoliolioli
I love taiwan too!!! my mandarin is a little rusty… hehe! But I often chat with the deli lady in Kroger in mandarin every time I get my turkey parmasan!
I’ve been doing martial arts since I was six (courtesey of my father telling me I must protect myself in emergency situations… my dad’s weird). I’m currently a black belt in snake fist kungfu and a green belt in kyokoshin karate. I’ve never done taekwondo but I’m thinking about starting gumdo or kendo this summer… I just REALLY want to learn sword fighting!! It’s soooo cool!! I’m in dallas so we have a very large asian population… our korean town is smack in the middle of our “red light district” which I find hilarious! Hence why I NEVER go there alone… plus kareoke is boring if you go alone. And YES I’m an addict to dramas; last winter break I watched more than 500 hours of drama! It’s horrible, I try to control it but I’m powerless :)

@pnptroung
I LOVE PHO!!! omg I’ve been bothering my viet friends to take me to viet town!! It’s five minutes from my school… but even the menu is in vietnamese so I don’t dare enter. My uncle on the other hand, a 6’2 DARK and BUFF guy, ventures into viet town everyday for his daily dose of pho.

@drosophyllum
that is amaaazing! I don’t dare venture into chinese… the writting is extremely hard! Plus mandarin tends to sound a bit mushed up… I never can differentiate between words! good luck though!!!

Spanish (Native), English (Fluent), French (can read, speak some, bad at understanding :/, ok at writing), Portuguese (not bad at listening, reading good, I can’t write, I can’t speak), Italian (molto bene! :p), uh…and some random words in other languages…I’d like to learn Korean (한국어) or Japanese (日本語)…or Russian xD. A language that doesn’t involve the Roman alphabet.

@ abiir
i did kumdo/gumdo/kendo when i went to korea 2 years ago. i don’t know how to speak korean (i speak mandarin pretty fluently though :D) but my parents dumped me there at a friend’s house and said i should go there for tkd training o.O i know weird. it was amazing experience. kendo is soooooooo boring though. you repeat the same thing over and over and over and over again without much of the flashy stuff… yea tx is pretty big on tkd cuz my dad’s friend has tkd schools there or something.
omg… boys over flowers… korean version i just started and not caught up… i watched all the japanese version though (i was never BIIIG on dramas… only the good ones… i watch anime more… though not recently)

@nicoliolioli
I admitt it must be boring… but once you get good the flashy stuff comes along ^^!! My friend does tkd and her dojo is one of the best in texas, they go to nationals EVERY year! Idk if that’s good but they do :)… she stopped competing though, too lazy xD, and she judges instead.
You got to go to korea… i offically hate you!!! I REALLY want to go there :D!! I was planning a trip next year… but my family, being soccer fanatics and all, are dragging me to South Africa for the world cup!
lmao!! you watch boys over flowers!!! omg Lee Min Ho is to DIE FOR! goodness… the drama sucks but he saved it!! I couldn’t watch past season one since the lead actress SUCKED. She had one pouting expression and it reamained glued on her face for 26 episodes…hell to the no! Especially after watching Hana Yori Dango BOF just seems terrible. The summer of my sophmore year I would wake up at 7 watch anime until 11 at night and repeat for THREE MONTHS STRAIGHT! it was insane… and unhealthy I lost like five pounds and turned really pale :(

@abir
lol… anime and i don’t watch just like naruto and bleach. i watch everyyything well almost. this season is pretty bad so far.
wait… there’s going to be a second season of bof? nooo… i like dramas short… hence why i like japanese dramas… you don’t have to go through the entire girl a likes boy a but boy a’s ex girlfriend/ fiance/ childhood friend shows up when he finally likes her repeat cyle with girl’s childhood friend show up.
so back onto the mites for a sec before this turns out into an omg azn rant lol which elective are you picking?

lmao! We will have six weeks to vent our love for all things azn >.<!! I have no clue!!! I’m thinking my first choice will be architecure/design… 2nd genomics, 3rd digital design, 4th Engineering design, and 5th electronics. For my field trips I REALLY want to go to Martha’s vineyard… the other two I just can’t decide. They’re just too good!!

From last year forum, I see that MITES even had a waitlist (one guy got an acceptance letter on May 2). Well, applying to MITES will give us enough strength and endurance for next year colleges application. Good experience.
