i checked the mail and still nothing, I would like to see my rejection letter already… oh well. maybe it’ll come monday

Yup nothing here

hey Yizue, did you get yours by express mail?

Apparently not… I’m not sure why.

COME ON CALIFORNIANS!!! I want some californians to get accepted and post about it on this forum already!!

if the mail comes on the 15th, that is definitely not enough time to respond via mail.

@Yizue, did they want you to respond via mail or email?

Yeah, no Californians got anything yet. A rejection, a waitlist, a fly-in, something. Maybe today will be the day. Mail should be here in a few hours. I’ll post if I get something today.

probably the same people we’re obsessive :P

I just checked the mail…and nada.
here’s my idea: the mites people sent out early express mail acceptances and flyins on the 3rd. then they sent out another batch on the 6th. maybe they’re having these people respond by the 13th, so they can accept some waitlisted people, or people who are on the verge of getting accepted…haha, that doesn’t really make sense. but then again neither does mites mailing plans. :D

I like your theory Melody, it’s better than just saying they are crazy, and it gives us a teeny bit of hope. So if we haven’t heard by the 15th, then I think I’ll start sending annoying e-mails jk

^HAHAHA!!! I like your plan petri21 ;)

@ melody, thanks :D. Hey what other programs did you apply to Melody224?

@futurexreject

It says on the letter that mail, email, and fax are all acceptable.
(I’m sending mine by fax as I need to get immunization info first… and the reply date is April 13th…)

Maybe we should try emailing them, like pnptruong did to find out our admission status. It’d be better than just waiting around.

I didn’t apply to any other programs. I wanted to apply to YESS, but I didn’t think I would get in. I also wanted to apply to WTP, but the money aspect kinda ruled it out. Either way, I think I’ll do some volunteer work, internship, and some summer school if this MITES thing doesn’t (which is most likely) work out.
I’m also toying with the idea of finding a job. I’ll probably apply to like 10 colleges next year, and just applying will cost $600+…so that would be nice to get those covered. Are you excited for YESS petri?

Yeah Melody is right about the April 3rd mailout for fly-ins; that’s when mine was dated.

@BlackRose21, yeah the paper I got about Fly-In said 30 people are chosen for Fly-In, I’m guessing that’s why not many people on the board are getting it.

I do agree though about this thing being slightly ridiculous. I realize that mail takes a while but still. If they used e-mail, in conjunction with mail of course, all of these problems would be obviated.

@ melody, I should probably get a job too, I’m gonna need a lot of money for applications :P. I’m pretty excited about getting into YESS, I was so caught up in SSP and MITES admissions that I completely forgot about it and then I checked my e-mail and there it was “congratulations…”. It’ll be a lot of fun. I’m just sad that it’s only 3 weeks and not as physics/space based as SSP, cuz thats the stuff I’m most interested in. But it still sounds great :D

SSP sounds really fun. I found out about past the due date
I thought people were talking about the harvard ssp that costs major $$$, and I would never apply to that. I’m sure you’ll have fun at YESS; aren’t their courses nuerobiology and physics?

awww that’s too bad Melody :(. Yup those are their courses, I’m worried about nuerobiology, but physics will be fun it always is… Ever notice that all physics teachers are insane in the most entertaining of ways? I think that is one of the prerequisites for being a physics teacher “Must be insane”.

^I COMPLETELY agree! At my school, physics is probably the best department, and my teacher is so cool, and hilarious in a very quirky kind of way.
Physics is definitely my hardest class this year, but it is totally worth it!

^exactly! It’s one of those classes that you have to work hard in, but it’s so great you seriously don’t mind at all. It’s so worth it. Before I took physics this year I was sure I wanted to major in aero/astro but then I took physics and I think I might just major in astrophysics. I <3 physics
