The side with the scores should be enough.

so excited…

@NiteStriker:
I know, we’re Tues and Wed. I never thought I would complain about snow days. =p

Anyways, I e-mailed MITES about the storm and how school might be closed for the rest of the week so I might not be able to get my recs back and this is what I guess the director replied:

“That is fine. Write “Late postmark approved by MITES Director” on the outside of the envelope and include a copy of this email inside.”

So I guess e-mail them and tell them about your situation.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I’ll email them right now :)

@NiteStriker

you’re welcome.
we have another 10-20 inches coming… i just love shoveling…

By the way, I had asked if it was okay if the supplemental package was postmarked a couple of days after the due date. (Feb 17) So not a week later or anything. =)

would the online score report from collegboard.com of psat scores be alright to send in

@hpaero

I actually just asked them if they would still take my application if it was postmarked late. I didn’t really specify a date. I haven’t yet received a response though.

I just hope I did well on the SAT.

@NiteStriker

Oh. Did you take the SAT in Jan?
I hope I got a good score too.

Also, does anyone know if it’s okay if a couple of my reccomendations (counselor/math teacher) is sent separately by the teacher and not in a single package by me? My counselor sent it on her own I guess because of the snow.

Yes, I took it in January for the first time.

By the way, the application said that it’s preferred if you sent it in one package. Not sure if that means they will still take it even if it’s sent separately.

@ NiteStriker

First time SAT for me too.

yeah, I read that too. I double checked and on the actual reccomendation request thing it says that the teachers should give it back to the students, but if that’s not possible then mail it to their address. I guess it’s okay then…

Hey everyone! excited for the deadline. I just have one essay left to write. Im pretty excited.

I wanted to ask if anyone kneewif the teacher recs HAD to be in sealed school envelopes? because my counselor gave just gave me the letter, she didnt seal it or anything? should i ask her to seal it for me, or will it not be a big deal?

@guezmike

I don’t really know. I guess if you have time you can ask her to seal it and sign it or something because that’s what my teachers did, except my guidance counselor mailed it straight to the MITES office. But I guess it’s okay if you seal it yourself.

You might want to read the forms for the teacher recs. They’re supposed to be in envelopes and you’re not supposed to read them.

Oh, and on some past forums, some people I think said they read it and sealed it themselves…? Not sure though.

I’m not sure about that either, but I read the papers and they say that the teacher has to give you the letter in an envelope. Either way, I’ll just follow the rules.

yeah, I guess they do specifically note that the teachers should return it sealed back to the students.

So my counsellor emailed them as well to see if we could get an extended deadline due to the snowstorms.

It’s snowing again today, we’re probably not going to be in school for the rest of the week.

Wow, seems like we don’t have school for the rest of the week. Not sure what to do now.

oh mann
sounds like they’re a couple people from VA on here.
I hope none of you go to tj or else im in troublee…
haha

@xlalala: haha, i don’t go to tj. =p

@nitestriker: I know…they cancelled for the rest of the week. That’s just great…
Did the MITES people reply back to your e-mail?

This is like a 2nd winter break and it means we’ll be in school until June 25 or something… and AP test dates won’t move.
