@hpaero1 no, i’m not applying to any other programs, i really dont know which ones are out there. i looked at YESS, but thats an engineering one. And what’s SSP? i looked at the site but didn’t really understand, like what do you do at the program?

yeah, i’m going to apply to UT lol. i dont like twilight or harry potter haha. so idk i like blood a different way haha.

@magi11 when did you mail your stuff? thats weird… i haven’t gotten a email confirmation yet.

@MIT 15
I thought the first one was good, in 7th grade… but the 4th one was kind of like… uhhh what!!!

@magi
Yeah, the blogs are fun to read. I’m taking ap chem, but the teacher is not good at teaching.
yeah when did you mail your stuff? and… what state?

@jbrown
Hi! I think we’re all impatient =D despite what the results may be… hehe at least I know I am

@Robert
SSP I think is just focused on astronomy and things like that. Apparently, you get to use a telescope and gather data at like 2 am in the morning. maybe it’s also a bit astrophysics

I’m gonna apply to UT too! i wish i still lived in tx.
Haha, I’m not a fan of twilight, but I grew up with harry potter and went through a phase of extreme obsession =p yeah, I know what you mean by liking blood… i was just kidding. my friend wants to a doctor and wanted to way before twilight. =)

I am from Florida. I mailed the stuff on Saturday the 13th, and submitted the online application the 15th at midnight. A friend of mines also applied and she already received the confirmation e-mail. I sent my stuff through regular mail, she sent hers through priority. I’ll ask my other friends that also applied. I guess you guys should call them after a week or so, just in case. @hpaero1: Lol I know how you feel, same happens at my school with my AP physics teacher, but my AP chem teacher is great, it’s the second year I have her. @ambaturkeyll: omg me neither, last year they found out a bit earlier, oh well I just want to get over the anxiety

Oh, I sent mine on the 18th because of the snow…so they said I could do that.
But I submitted my online app on the 15th. I’m in VA.

@magi
haha, that’s the total opposite for me kinda.
The AP physics teacher, who also teaches Physics honors, is really good.
The chem teacher is really bad. I wish i had my chem honors teacher, she was really really good at teaching even though some people hated her.

haha, I think my AP chem teacher is great, even though last year only one person passed, then again it was her first year teaching the class which she didn’t even know that she was going to have until the first day of school. In regard to my ap physics teacher, oh well that’s just a whole different story, he just doesn’t know how to teach and you can’t ask him any questions :[

@magi
that is funny… my ap chem teacher didn’t know he was teaching the class until practically the first day! plus, it’s his first year teaching ap chem, 2nd year teaching. however, he tries reallly hard to teach us, but he is confused most of the time himself and we usually correct him on things so you can’t really ask questions… and our grades are based just on tests (also not curved) so we pretty much teach ourselves things. I like him as a person though because he is really nice and funny.

@hpaero1 ohh eh SSP doesn’t seem like my type of personality lol. i guess i won’t apply haha.

i think i’m already accepted into UT lol. if your like top 8% in texas of your class, your automatically accepted. ahh harry potter && twilight seem a little boring to me haha. idk i’m weird i like other stuff like the movie Valentines Day! && Dear, John lol.

how are you guys in AP chem already?! i feel stupid lol. i’m not taking AP chem till next year, but i’m in AP Physics this year, and took AP Bio last year. I have the same teacher for chem honors and AP chem, as well as physics honors and AP phys lol. so i’m good && i love them both haha.

btw. is anyone in/doing science fair?! just curious…

lol, really? yeah okay, i definitely wish i was still in tx
harry potter is the best but to each his own =p

ooo, i want to see dear john. The trailer looked pretty good.

Umm… no I feel stupid =p AP physics and AP bio??
AP chem is the only AP science class I’ve taken.
we’re not allowed to take a AP science until junior year in my school.

i did science fair last year.
got to regionals then got disqualified over forms issues =p
i couldn’t find a lab to work in this year and getting all the supplies by myself would be too expensive so i’m not doing it this year.

I took AP bio last year, my first AP class, I loved it I got a 5
I took AP chem because I loved chemistry, and it was with the same teacher, AP physics on the other hand I wasn’t sure because I didn’t take physics honors, but oh well I took it, at my school there isn’t a big difference between physics honors and AP physics it’s the same teacher with the same style lol sort of pathetic.

This year I got over stuff like Dear John, I even started to read the book, but I couldn’t end it, I still want to see the movie though. I became obsessed with twilight in middle school, I started hating it afterwards because suddenly everyone had read it, it felt private to me in middle school, it became annoying after awhile hearing everyone love twilight. I Harry Potter though, in my opinion it’s a way better book, but hey it’s your opinion

lol,
Now I feel stupid. =p I’m just taking AP Chem right now with honors physics which is not the same teacher that teaches AP because we have 3 honors physics teachers.

Why doesn’t my school let us take APs earlier… The only AP we could take last year was AP World so everyone took it and most got a 5.

I heard the book dear john was good. =/

That’s exactly how I felt about Twilight! i picked up the first book because the cover looked cool in 7th grade then everyone started liking it

yep, HP…it’s still not over. 1 more movie! =D =D

lol don’t, I’m good in science and math, even though I’m only taking precalc but everything else I’m shaky, my ACT scores are not amazing like everyone else at CC, there are just a cute 28, I didn’t take the SAT I’m terrified of doing so lol
Well my school is the same, they follow that policy, but no one follows the rules and the counselors don’t pay attention to your subject selection, you can get away with pretty much everything after sophomore year.
Dear John wasn’t bad, it’s just that it feels like I’m reading the same Nicholas Sparks storyline, I got annoyed by page 28 so I left it there.
Well two movies of HP movies left, part 1 and 2 of deathly hallows :)

yeah i’m good at science mostly. math, i get it and i help other students, but during tests I really don’t know what it is, but i get sooo nervous for some reason.
i’m worst at english. analytical essay writing is not my thing…
lol, i’ve never taken the act, but took SAT in jan. I got 2010 which I guess is fine for not studying at all but I want at least a 2250

really? your counselors don’t notice? that’s cool =D
counselors at my school sit down with you have have like a 20 min talk about course selection so it’s pretty impossible to get away with it.

haha yeah… i’ve only read one of his books.

see now I feel stupid, my score in the ACT would be around a 1260/1600 in the SAT, I didn’t study for it either, I barely knew the format, that day was kinda crazy it was after my junior ring ceremony, I stayed until really late, had to wake up really early, so I’m happy with the scores, but I definitely want to do much better.
Yeah it’s cool, but at the same time it really sucks. There are like 5 or 6 counselors for over 3000/around 4000 students, so basically you pass high school without much help from them. Our course selection is held at the auditorium with over 100 students, they can’t spend 20 minutes with each person. It mainly sucks for the people that actually want to go to college, especially a top college, but I don’t blame them, they really can’t handle so many kids.
And yes I hate writing essays, the worst part is that I have to write at least one weekly due to AP english but I think I’ve become a better writer this year lol

@GAC1107: I want to, but I’m not sure, MITES is the one like the most so far, but my chances of getting in are limited, so most likely I’ll end up applying to other places like SSP and SAMS

@hpaero1 yeah, i’m doing Science Fair this year, i love it! i did science fair last year and made it to state, HOPEFULLY this year i can make it to ISEF lol.

@magi11 i skipped physics honors too and went straight to Physics B AP, our school allows us to do it, because its basically the same thing and more in depth.

It’s weird how schools work, we’re allowed to take any AP classes as long as your prepared for them, it sucks that my school doesn’t have AP world history for sophomores, we only have honors.

I’m in Calculus AB AP and i absolutely love it! i’m hoping to get a 5. Yeah i’m the same, i HATE English and History i’m more of a science and math person :)

&& yeah me either, i’m not going to take the SAT my vocabulary is kind of lame i think i’m suited better for the ACT, i plan to get around a 30-34. hopefully.

Does anyone think their going to get Merit Scholar for the PSAT? i heard you have to be in like the 98 percentille.

Whats TASP & SAMS? If i get into MITES i’m going to do that, but if not i’m probably going to do something locally.
