MITES / MOSTEC 2020

I’m like 90% certain that they’re going to delay it again to sometime in May but it’s not going to be canceled. Good luck everyone!

they’ll probably send an email tomorrow morning saying it’s delayed.

On their Instagram it does say that they got a bunch of people together to review the applications 3 days ago. I don’t know why they would still delay it if they had all the decisions. Maybe it’ll be like a shorter delay like a day or 2.

Well good luck everyone. I hope that decisions come out soon. It is still pretty awesome that they are even continuing the program.

what is the time commitment on this?

Yeah that Instagram post looks promising so maybe sometime in the next few days

Still not out…

yeah, I hope they at least provide us with an update by the end of the day

They will probably send another email tomorrow morning saying it’s delayed until end of May.

looking at last year’s thread, it looks like the portal went blank the day before decisions were supposed to be out. so we are gonna have a long wait even when the portal does go blank (if that happens this year).

This whole scenario is a circus and we’re the clowns.

did anyone else refresh their email every 5 minutes

I cannot say that I will look forward to applying to things in the future. I applied to an engineering program earlier this year and it got canceled even before this stuff was happening.

What was it called?

So while we’re waiting, what colleges do you guys plan on applying for next year? I’m planning on applying to a bunch of colleges through QuestBridge and a few other outside ones like CMU and University of Illinois.

Does applying through QuestBridge decrease your chances for MIT?

I’m not sure actually, they advertise the national college match as giving you higher advantage, so I’m willing to try.

I applied to lockheed martin for an online computer science/engineering program. I honestly don’t know about colleges yet. I want to go to JHU or something with research.

I don’t know, I feel like the MIT application is probably better for MIT itself.

I wonder what’s going to happen to fly-in programs in the fall :frowning: I hope they don’t get canceled too
