Anyone else’s team in the post-season this year? Our Blue Jays have had a roller-coaster ride for the past month keeping us on the edge of our seats. That included last night’s wild card game against the Orioles. They won it 5-2 on an Encarnacion walk-off home run in the 11th. What a game! Now, on to Texas.
My team’s in for at least one game–I’ll meet you back here tomorrow if the Mets win tonight
(And if they do, they get to play the best team in baseball, by far, so it might be a short stay. After losing almost the entire starting rotation and half the infield (all of it for long stretches), I’m happy just to see them in there for one night!)
Go Indians! But we Cleveland fans are used to disappointment.
My Rangers are in and my Mets have a shot at it, too. Unfortunately, my Rangers, with the best record in the AL, are stuck with the afternoon games so I will not get to watch.
My Rangers got stuck with the afternoon games but I get to watch! The Rangers/Blue Jay series is gonna be a good one! #NeverEverQuit
any insight why the Orioles kept Britton in the bullpen and let Jimenez serve up that meatball to Encarnacion?
if your best reliever is injured, that’s one thing. but if it’s a case of “durr, he’s my closer, so i’m not using him in this elimination game unless we have a lead to protect” – then i am glad that managerial idiocy backfired.
Red Sox fan here–happy because I want to see Ortiz play another game.
My improbable Mets, given the slew of injuries this year, have at least one game tonight.
My Rangers are in, and I’ll get to see the Thursday game and part of the Friday game.
Blue Jays fan throwing the beer was the worst. I don’t think I could ever root for them because of it. I wish others had turned the fan in.
BeliEVEN!!!
I’m a Brewers fan but i’ve transferred allegiance to my wife’s team, the Cubs, for their postseason run. That is a long-suffering fan base and i think it’d be nice if the curse could be lifted. And it would finally give them some ammo against the (more…) smug Cardinals fans. Here in the Quad Cities, the vast majority are either Cubs or Cardinals fans.
@jshain Yes! Yes! Yes!
There were 50,000 fans there. You wouldn’t root for a team because of one idiot? That’s pretty silly.
The idiot who threw the beer left before security arrived. The police are looking at films from the game, and have a description from surrounding fans, and the team front office is trying to identify who purchased that particular ticket. It wasn’t as though the person was still there and everyone refused to identify the culprit.
I have no real reason TO root for them!
Why Baltimore Lost –
Pitch Count:
Beer Can Guy - 1
Zach Britton - 0
WINDIANS!!!
I will pull for the Mets because the Yankees were dreadful this year. I am the product of a mixed marriage and spent many days at Shea over the years, so.
I am pulling for the Mets because Thor is from my hometown.
Are the Cubs still in?
If so, I’m hoping for a Cubs/Indians World Series!
Span was safe!
