^foot came off the bag.
Yes!!! Lack of celebrating on CC. Obvious east coast bias…
Yes!!!
Go Giants!!!
Stupid zombie Giants. They just won’t die. Gotta hand it to 'em–very impressive, and Bumgarner is amazing.
@marvin100, I agree Bumgarner is amazing, The game was awesome but I wanted the Mets to win!
My Rangers play tomorrow and I will be glued to the TV!
I was for the Mets, too, @VANURSEPRAC
When Bumgarner needed so few pitches to get through the first 3 innings, I figured the Mets would be in trouble because he’d likely be able to pitch a complete game. Guess I figured that right.
Thanks, Rangers. That was painful.
It was good to see Andrew Miller do so well tonight. He was one of my favorite Yankees, and I miss having him on my team. So I’m definitely rooting for the Indians in this series.
^Um… if Andrew Miller was one of your favorite Yankees, please tell me you’re routing for the Indians because of your hatred of the Red Sox?
I was too upset and sad to post after the horrible loss. this is a must win today and praying Yu brings it!
That’s part of it!
I am of two minds about the Mets losing, the fact they made the post season with their grab bag personnel was amazing…I also felt sorry for Thor, he threw an amazing game, and simply lost because the bullpen was no match for Baumgartner (Familia reminds me a lot of Armando Benitez in how frustratingly inconsistent he can be, despite having 50 + saves this year, he chokes under pressure a lot). On the other hand, this frees me to root for the Cubs, I love Joe Maddon as a manager, he really deserves to win, he has created something from nothing for a lot of years, and now has the Cubs at the top of their game (on the other hand, how many times have teams been hyped then get wiped out, the hype around the Cubs should scare them), and yet he also isn’t afraid to do things that are different or be goofy, gotta love him for that, very much the opposite of the Joe Girardi/Joe Torre school of managing (for the recordI respect both of them as managers, just that the rigid/no emotion school of managing needs some balance). Cubs/Indians WS would be interesting, kind of a grudge match between Francona and Theo Epstein, would make things interesting.
Today is a baseball lover’s paradise. Four games!
Two of my Ds were at the Adele concert here in town last night and she came out for her encore in a Jays jersey, which, of course, made the crowd go crazy. Go Jays Go!
Was rooting for the Mets (ugh) because I don’t want SF’s even year CURSE to afflict the Nats again this year.
S2 got cheapish tickets on Craigslist for tonight’s Game 1 – and he paid for them, miracle of miracles!
I’m at work in my Nats gear.
Will get off the train at Metro Center and walk the last 2.7 miles to Nats Park. Fun AND making sure I get my steps!
My Rangers need a miracle. If they don’t win out, I will definitely root for the Cubs in the WS. Maybe this is the year!
Even year! Don’t stop BeliEVEN!
Posey, Posey, Posey
Well tonymom, another catcher once said “It ain’t over til it’s over”.
Go Dodgers!
Kershaw looked terrible–that may be the worst I’ve ever seen his slider, and he really didn’t have his customary command–but wow, the bullpen is so so so much better than past years’.
In other news, Cueto was brilliant. Cubs lucked out. SF isn’t done though, I’m pretty darn sure.
