MLB post-season 2016

Second game between the Nats and the Dodgers postponed until tomorrow due to rain.

…which means no day off between game 2 (in DC) and game 3 (in LA)…which means (according to Dave Roberts) that Kershaw on four days’ rest is off the table.

I rarely visit CC anymore, but I’m a long suffering Cub fan, and so far pinching myself.

Enjoy it, @gloworm – and take down SF pleaz!

Still pinching myself.

Although I very much enjoy how Javier Baez plays, last night I did not like his lack of running when he hit that HR, and again tonight. I hope he learned a lesson about running hard until you’re sure! A bit of humble pie.

Yay!!!

So we’ve got the Indians playing the Red Sox today and the Browns playing the Patriots with Tom Brady back. Gee I wonder which team has a better chance of winning?

Exhausted this morning! That was the most fun game I’ve been to since the game when Joe Carter’s walk-off homerun won the World Series. A nailbiter for sure but oh my, great play from so many of the Jays. Now for a few days of rest before facing the winner of the Indians/Red Sox series.

If cleveland wins, soon people are going to be calling for their teams to be broken up (as in the old 'break up the Yankees" cry back in the 40’s and 50’s)…though having the Browns, Cleveland likely will never be thought of as a sports arrogant town, it is kind of like having a cat and a dog, a dog can make someone arrogant in the way they worship you, but when you have a cat that soon is cured lol.

Nats! Nats! Nats!

Cubs/Giants game three is incredible. What a game. I’m a huge Dodgers fan and lifelong Giants hater (memories of having a beer dumped on me in Candlestick when I was 7 are still raw haha), but seriously: props to the Giants–they’re seriously gritty and scrappy and all that stuff, and I’m (grudgingly) impressed.

SF Bay Area born and raised and lifelong Giants fan but I’ll be rooting for the Cubs to go all the way should the Giants not win 2-in-a-row.

Wow! Too much to say. It was the kind of game I don’t think could happen in an AL park.

Hoping we can take it tonight. What can people tell me about Matt Moore?

@gloworm Matt Moore is a lefty who throws about a 94 mph fastball and has a big curve. Was wild when he first came over from Tampa, but has settled down since. He’s mostly been pretty good once he became comfortable in SF. He was one out away from a no-hitter against the Dodgers last month, but then a start or two later he only lasted an inning against them. On the last weekend of the season, he had another big outing against the Dodgers in a must-win game.

Thanks! Now I’m sorry I asked. I’m already chewing my nails badly, but, hey, it is SF.

Sorry I missed the end of last night’s game, but with the 7th inning being at midnight EDT, couldn’t stay up. I am rooting for the Cubs for two reasons (and have sent out threats to any city that beats them, either in this series, the NLCS or World series, that I’ll make fun of them for that time forward), one that it is time, two that if the Cubs win the world Series Ken Burns will have to do an 11th inning.

OMG! 4 in the 9th! What a series! SF is so good, but my Cubs are one step closer to the dream.

No nails left, and really pinching myself.

Good job, Cubs! Tough loss if you, like me, are a Giants fan. Wish they could have taken the Cubs to a 5th game. Now I’m hoping they go all the way. The Giants bullpen needs help and it was evident for much of the season.

Saying the Giants bullpen needs help is like saying the Titanic took on some water.

I think MLB just breathed a sigh of relief. If the Cubs don’t make the series, you can almost guarantee that the ratings will be way, way lower than with the Cubs in it…I suspect if the Cubs make it to the series, and especially if they win it, the conspiracy jockeys will be spreading all kinds of rumors of an MLB “Fix” lol (though you can bet the TV Networks, MLB officials and the advertisers are hoping for a Cubs world series in 7 games, win or lose).

If GM’s get into the MLB Hall of fame, if the cubs win Theo Epstein is gonna be a shoo in, having helped two cursed teams break the curse:). On the other hand, if it is a Cubs/Indians world series, might be something of a blood match, no love lost between Francona and Epstein.
