I went to a wedding last week and the MOB I realize was wearing the Komarov dress in vintage rose without the jacket. I admit that whenever anyone posts that dress I thought the fabric looked cheap for the price and I’ve also thought that when I saw the dress on a hanger in the store. I was surprised when I saw it on the MOB as it was stunning. The MOB was small chested and the dress was flattering.
I am in love with this dress. It is very much my style and color. I like that it has sleeves for an October wedding. And I think it would look good with the shoes I just bought lol!
@thumper1: One piece of advice, though: Don’t buy a short dress if it looks like something a guest might wear. If you’re going to go short, it has to be a home run – not ordinary. JMO.
Well, I finally got shoes that D can tolerate for a few hours as well as a pair of ballet flats that she can change into for dancing. She said she’d be happy barefoot, but I don’t want her to step on glass or anything and we did get her some nice ballet shoes with arch supports so she can be lovely in her bridesmaid gown.
Last night I attended a dinner that was at the shopping center, right across from Macy’s. After dinner, I went to the women’s shoe dept and took photos of all the shoes and let D choose which ones she wanted me to buy and then bought 2 pairs of one style and 3 pairs of another, sizes 6, 6.5 and 7 except for the style they were out of 7. She tried them on last night, then went for a walk with us and came back and tried them one again and chose the one pair of shoes that she felt fit best and was most tolerable for walking as much as she will need to today.
Phew! I am SO glad to be done with all of this shoe stuff! I will have to take all the pairs of shoes back to Macy’s and get our account re-credited!
Is this the new in thing to have unfinished edges? I bought a dress recently that did the same thing at the neckline, and I’d like it much better if those edges were finished.
Thank you for the dress suggestions. I guess I should clarify a bit more. I do not want to wear white, or off white or any kind of white. At all. I’m not a fan of gold…and truthfully, my coloring is not suited to it either.
To clarify the colors…the pink I would like is what you would get a baby girl…that color pink. Not fuscia, not hot pink, and not real pale pink blush. Lavender is the only color in the purple family I would like to find. Not eggplant, or violet…just pastel lavender.
Dresses with full skirts will make me look like Little Lotta (for those of you old enough to remember her). Not a good look!
Some of the suggestions above are beautiful. Unfortunately the ones I like the best no longer are available in my size (8).
I look at these dresses and think all of you must be at a great weight and feel so confident wearing them.
I envy you and have enjoyed looking at them with you.
I am a short legged peasant bodied woman about 15 lbs overweight.
I look terrible in any dress whatsoever. I have not had a dress on in over 15 yrs.
I know I am pretty OK but I am not comfortable in fitted clothes.
When any of you have a moment I would love to see some MOB tops.
I would never wear a pantsuit.
I plan on dressy slacks and black tank and ??? and nice wedge shoes.
21 guests / alternative wedding with some walking.
yes, mom60, I love Johnny Was. I worry that in the pictures the patterns are too busy but this designer is very much
my look and comfort.
The Free people is too short.
I wear a 10 or medium top in general.
