@oregon101, your outfit sounds wonderful - the artist has beautiful work, and I am sure your jacket is amazing.
@oregon101 ,Wow, love her work! You will look fabulous, and individual.
Thanks mom60! I now wear this frequently.
@oregon101 - I was curious if you had gotten it yet. I’m glad it worked out.
The designer for your wedding top looks amazing. Im glad you found something you feel good about over just settling,
I took my MOG dress to get shortened this week. I guess there’s no going back.
Me too! I had a fitting yesterday and the wonderful seamstress at Saks is doing a baste fitting and I will return next week to make sure all is good. The fabric seems to have some give, and I need to make sure the top (which was too big) is fitted enough before we make a final decision on the hem.
These are the shoes I chose since the B has most of her party in floral - I thought it was a cute touch.
My D suggested I get another pair with a block heel of similar height to wear when the little heel becomes uncomfortable. That’s my next assignment. She still doesn’t have a dress, but we’re shopping again tomorrow and she is determined to pick something. Four weeks out and right now I’m finding my “chill out, it will all be fine” mode!
Nice shoes, @runnersmom!
Awesome shoes!
Great shoes!
I decided to keep the dress I ordered … and the best part is, no alterations are needed.
My D found a dress!
In a pretty unbelievable coincidence, the color palate and print is very similar to the pattern in the ties my S chose for all the men in the wedding party. Anyway, hopefully shoes will be an easier find than this does, but she looks beautiful and will blend right in with the family group and the wedding party women. Phew, finally. And best of all, depending on the shoes, at best it needs to be hemmed.
Great dress!
She looks beautiful, it’s very comfortable, and she might actually wear it again. Check, check, and check!
All the rest of the dresses she tried on seemed too formal or just too much dress. As kind as it seems to let the bridal party choose their own clothes, without real direction as to color or style, this has been very difficult. I think my D internalized this and will take it into consideration should she ever get married.
I really really like that dress!
Thanks, all. It was a frustrating journey, but the minute she tried it on she knew it felt right.
Wow! Great choice. Ted Baker’s florals are beautiful.
I am late to the party and don’t have time to read nearly 800 posts, but I have looked at some of the more recent ones. My son is getting married in November so I am doing some preliminary exploration for MOG dresses. I don’t want to stand out so not a lot of sequins and sparkles. Color is limited. I don’t want black, white, or red. I don’t wear beige. The bridesmaids are wearing burgundy (at least I think so, I have not seen it) so I don’t want to wear that color. I don’t know what color the MOB is wearing yet, and my son has a stepmother and I don’t really want to wear the same color she is wearing. So many pretty dresses but so many with bows and sashes that I’m not sure works for a darn-near-sixty woman. Plus I am short and plump and difficult to fit. This is HARD! Congrats to all of you who have found THE one!
There are lots of navy dresses…lots…(I have three in my closet). I was at the mall today, and really…the navy selection is far and away the best selection of all. Lots of choices…without bows, sequins, or bling.
Look online too…you can sort by color…and size.
Runnersmom- you’re D found a beautiful dress.
Agree about the dress. I love it!
Thanks all - like i said before, long journey, great result.
