I have seen some blush pink dresses at Dillard’s. I love pink and would consider it an option for me, in addition to nearly any shade of blue. Of course, I love black, too, but am afraid that would send the wrong message at my son’s wedding!
Blush pink is too pale for me. I need the pastel pink that you think of when you get a little girl baby pink present.
@thumper1, I love the pink version of the Pissaro Nights dress posted recently. Maybe it’s pinker in person?
@Consolation I’ve seen that dress in person…and it’s pale.
Is this the kind of color you are looking for?
YES…that color pink…but in a nice long dress style…like the navy ones I have…but pink!
Thanks! Now I know what to look for. If I see one, I will let you know!
How about this dress? It’s pink and I think it’s lovely and petite.
or
or maybe one of the dresses here:
So many pretty dresses. I feel like Cinderella when trying them on. I hope I can find something reasonably priced since I’m likely to only wear it once. Unfortunately, I usually have champagne taste on a beer budget!
I did find a bright navy (or dark royal blue) lace dress that I liked and it was on sale. Unfortunately, it was 6 inches too long and had a scalloped lace hem so the best way to shorten it would be at the waist, which would require removing the zipper and practically remaking it. I’m sure the alteration would cost more than the dress. I did like it, however, except for the satin ribbon belt thing. I’m hoping they will get more Fall dresses in soon. I have only been to one store so the hunt has barely begun!
I think this is a lovely dress, but sadly I have no event that needs such finery!
@thumper1 Given how millenial pink has been so hot, I’m kind of surprised you’re not finding more options.
Lovely dresses! Maybe by the time DD2 is ready for marriage I will have a less frumpy body and get more excited about a dress. Great hair, great skin, dress was fine - just over-sized body at the moment. A beautiful dress on a beautiful body is a nice goal. My description of myself from neck down is ‘matronly’.
A body that functions well and looks good and makes you feel good is a great goal. That’s my goal and the goal H and our kids have as well. D admits she and S are vain about their body looking good–lean and toned. Fortunately it keeps them exercising and only moderately indulging in junk food and other high caloric indulgences.
I have no idea when either of them will have a serious relationship they will share with us. So far, we haven’t met or spoken with anyone they’ve dated. I’m glad they both seem happy and have loyal friends whom I like.
That pink is delicious looks no, like cotton candy
@HImom those dresses are too pale pink. Look at the post from @BunsenBurner which has the link I’m looking for.
A blush would look awful on me…as would that dusty rose color.
Adding…no blouson tops. I’m high waisted and they look dumpy on me.
Yes @bookworm the pink I want is just a little paler than cotton candy…a tad. It’s the pink that is associated with baby girls!
@doschicos what is “millennial pink”.
I like the first Adrianna Papell dress a lot…
Not what thumper wants, but maybe for someone else:

A lot of millennial pink is cut for milennials: strapless, off the shoulder, weird necklines, low backs, etc.
That Needle and Thread dress is very unique and pretty, @BunsenBurner.
That needle and thread dress is gorgeous
