MOB dress help needed!

Lots of lovely dresses but sadly no where to wear them in the life I lead. That’s ok. I love my life!

Sometimes it’s best to just try on the dresses because it can be tough to know what the shade will look like in person and while you’re wearing. I don’t own much in any shade of pink, nor dressy clothes but it’s great to see that there are many lovely options.

Another super pretty dress:

I guess the reason we see a lot of blush (not pink) gowns is that blush is becoming popular among the brides as the color of their wedding dress. Some of the blush gowns look wedding altar-worthy.

I find it hard to see the dress on my monitor when it’s shown in blush.

What about this gown, which is pink and has a lovely V-neck?

I feel like we should start an online store of MOB/G dresses. Im sure there are some on here that would love a nice dress only worn once. I spent $300 on a dress from Nordstrom, and I will never wear it again :frowning:

@HImom while those would be perfect for some MOB…I think they look more like bridesmaids dresses…and that isn’t the look I’m going for.

But the color is better

I like that Linden Dress linked upstream.

@thumper1, go to Bella Bridesmaids and look around:

BellaBridesmaids.com and click on “Shop.” You can filter results.

@kelsmom

Gorgeous dress…and I like it. But I’m pretty fair with darkish hair. I think I need a better pink than this! But I might order it and see! Hope BHLDN has a good return policy!

It is a gorgeous dress!

Some of these would be splendid for a relatively young MOB/G. But for those of us in our 60s who show our age most noticeably in our necks and arms, sleeveless styles with low-cut necklines are not the most flattering.

I absolutely hated being small busted when I was younger. Now that I am close to 60, I don’t mind it so much. Funny how time changes how we feel about things.

@thumper1, they also have that dress in blue - not pink, I know, but maybe it might work if the pink is wrong?

There are many things small to medium busted gals can wear that don’t look too good on their more endowed sisters. Having good-fitting bras is also a lot more critical for the nore generously endowed (and tends to be more expensive–engineering to defy gravity).

I just noticed that the hem of that dress has a pattern. Might be tough to shorten it. The blue is amazing.

It does have a lovely scalloped hem which would be challenging to shorten. The blue dress is gorgeous.

It could probably be shortened at the waistline, and the flower appliques could probably be worked with to make it look right - but you’d need the advice of a good seamstress to make that determination. May or may not be worth it …

I love blue…but the bridesmaids are wearing a dusty blue…so the only blue I can consider is navy…and I already have THREE navy dresses.

I am a little concerned about that dress. I’m very high waisted…and I didn’t see that it came in a petite. My guess is it will have too much fabric between the waist and shoulders…and I have little up front to fill it in!

Shortening dresses at the waist generally requires removing the zipper, which would probably make alterations very expensive. I love that pink dress, though!

That dress comes in a street length version also! But…I think the pink is too pale for me.

@thumper1 - Several months back I ordered a dress from BLHDN, which is what jump started my search for a MOB dress. Their return window is relatively short – 30 days I think. But, I received my refund with no problem. (The dress I ordered was tea length on the model; ankle length on me. It would have had to be shortened at the waist due to the lace overlay, plus it was surprisingly heavy. I decided it just wasn’t worth the $$ to have it shortened, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to wear all that weight for so many hours.)
