I use Dove Clinical Strength, and I find that after about five minutes it’s completely absorbed by my skin and doesn’t get onto any clothes.
Very pretty dress @Marian
Thanks for the advice, @VeryHappy, and for the compliment, @deb922. The dress looks a bit different on me because I’m short (so the hemline hits below the knee) and I wear a size 14. But it has sleeves! I wanted sleeves. And it fits well.
Of course, this particular kind of loose sleeve may end up dunked in the food at some point, but at least that’s not likely to happen until after the ceremony is over.
@Marian, with those sleeves, I’d dress first then push the sleeve up to apply deodorant.
Lovely dress, you will look great! I have been using Dove spray on deodorant all summer. It dries almost instantly.
Very pretty dress! I use this:

Clear, no residue, no perfume, no nonsense.
@Marian, beautiful dress!
Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions.
@Marian nice dress…TBH, I’d be more worried about my hair than the deodorant.
How timely is your question, @Marian! I’m down to 2 short navy dresses for D’s wedding in 1 month. I’ve returned 6 - 8 to Macy’s. (As an aside, when I returned 2 dresses to Macy’s the other day, the clerk told me that as of August 1 the return window has been shortened from 180 days to 60 days! She said the 180 day return period would still be honored for dresses bought before Aug. 1.)
Anyway, 1 of the 2 dresses I’m deciding between also has no zipper. I’m not as concerned about deodorant stains – I usually manage to put things on is such a way that I don’t get them. BUT, I was thinking if I chose that dress I’d have to put it on before having my make-up done – maybe put a light robe on over the dress. I’m also not too worried about my hair since it’s short.
Many stretchy dresses are supposed to be put on by stepping into them and pulling them up, not by pulling them over your head all the way down.
^^^That’s how I put on my upper-body Spanx.
I have the greatest respect for anyone who can tolerate upper-body Spanx.
Here you go @CBBBlinker https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004JYNINO/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1503746835&sr=8-2&keywords=head+makeup+protector
And now you know you can buy anything at amazon
I guess if you’re driving through a bee hive . . . .
@deb922 – Ha, ha! That’s great!! Yes, apparently you can buy anything and everything on Amazon.
That makeup protector thing reminded me that when I was little I used to watch my mother getting dressed and she would put a pair of clean underwear over her head to keep her makeup from getting on her clothes. Back in the 50s I think all ladies wore granny panties so that worked pretty well. I thought she was kind of nuts, though :))
@patsmom, my mom used to get her hair done once a week at the beauty salon and she would sleep with a pair of clean, nylon panties on her head to protect her hairdo! Us kids thought that was hilarious and there are pictures of us wearing our undies on our heads to mimic her. Thanks for the memory!
