That’s a great dress @tx5athome !
I’m miffed with my nephew’s photographer who took lots of photos, but I am not in a single one of them.

My new SIL’s mom and her two sisters wore one long gown to the church & another for the reception. They were all truly stunning. Good heavens, I had enough trouble finding ONE I liked … no way would I have put myself through the ordeal of finding two. But oh, these dresses were to die for. They weren’t any I had seen in my many online searches for evening gowns. I think they may have bought them in Dubai, where one of the aunts lives.
@tx5athome LOVE the back on that dress.
@VeryHappy and @tx5athome, those are both great dresses.
@tx5athome: If you’ve got the back for it, that’s a great dress! I must admit, my back is better than a lot of other parts . . .
@tx5athome I have a dress with a similar back…but I’m having trouble with upper “foundation”. You can PM me with a tip!!
Chicken cutlets.
@thumper1 I bought a backless bra to wear with it but you could see it on the sides so I had to go without a bra which ended up to be fine.
This is what Nubra is for
@VeryHappy I recently discovered that brand when my D was looking for a dress for a wedding. She has nice dresses. She even sells a few in petite sizes through Anthropologie. @tx5athome stunning dress. I’m also wearing maroon and the bridesmaids navy for the wedding in September.
@mom60, I found that site through Anthropologie. They have some unusual manufacturers that I’ve found there.
@tx5athome Totally impressed that you can carry off that dress!
I often wonder what Meghan Markle wears in the way of undergarments, given her penchant for extremely wide necklines. Maybe chicken cutlets are the answer!
If you are generously endowed, how do the silicon adhesive “bras” provide any support? Inquiring minds are curious (have always ruled out garments when I couldn’t wear a comfortable bra—defying gravity is appealing).
@thumper1 , Spanx has a great one-piece low-back foundation that worked for my cut-out-back dress. My straps didn’t show at all.
D1 32DD used the silicone stick-on cups in addition to the larger sewn-in cups for a bridesmaid dress. The seamstress altered the bodice so it was tight enough to be supportive. I’m a 34D and they don’t work at all—-I was saggy and bouncy. Not the look for the MOG. I used a strapless bra with clear straps, but the dress back wasn’t open.
Anyone tried any of the solutions suggested in this article?

I avoid many styles just because of dang bra straps and not wanting to be too bouncy or droopy.
Good recap of bra styles. But geez. This caught my eye!
“Most bras start to fall apart within a few months of wear and washing…”
Uhhm. NO, they don’t - if you don’t buy cheap $20 crap off Amazon, if you don’t wear the same bra two days in a row, and if you wash your well-made bras properly. I have Prima Donna bras that are 5 years old and still look brand new.
I am considering going braless with my dress. It has a deep plunge V neck and I’m not that large and what I do have is what my Dr refers to as adolescent dense breast so no droop or sag. I might look into something stick on. Any suggestions for a plunging neckline. Plus back is full coverage but is cut in on the sides so no regular bra straps would work.
Most of my bras are Natori and they last for years. I even wash them in the machine but usually air dry.
Mom60 - try Nubra (the stick on stuff).
Most of my bras last many, many years with hand washing, no-heat fluff drying and final drying over laundry baskets. I don’t wear the same one 2 days in a row and use the special powdered soap I bought at lingerie shop. I buy brand names at discount stores—Ross, TJMaxx, NRack. I have difficulty paying full price — amcsn afford it but prefer several from discount stores for same price. I have wacoal, Chantelle and other brands.
