Shucks—I do love the royal blue color. Ok. The search continues.
How about this? It has a full back and is long and a rich color.
How about this? Too dressy?

Somehow, even though I never met @mom60, I do not picture her in Komarov dresses or anything bling-sparkly.

How about something like this in midnight (navy)? https://www.bhldn.com/occasion-dresses-view-all-dresses/jones-dress-burgundy/productoptionids/57db2d1e-d83c-48d7-9edb-c162c1cde747
There’s also this:
@BunsenBurner I love that dress. I think I’ll order it as Nordstrom has such a great return policy. You are right I’m not drawn to bling. My sweet D said the Komarov dresses look to old for me. Have you tried the Alice and Olivia brand. How does it run on sizing?
@tx5athome I like the navy Bhldn dress but I think it’s similar to the style of the dress I wore to my S’s wedding.
@HImom you’re doing great on color but think I’d like something less formal.
How about this?
Maybe this—less formal because shorter length:
I really like the Alice and Olivia dress. My D bought one, it’s gorgeous.
@mom60 , what time of day is the wedding?
@mom60 - I think Alice and Olivia runs true to American designer sizing (low to moderate vanity sizing). It is hard to explain. I wear a 6 in it (125-130 lb, 5-5 1/2 or so).

My D sent me this one. I like the embroidery, not sure about the black. Also the back is sheer which I’d have to see how it looks. Lace might also be itchy.
I’m going back and forth between wanting something bohemian or sleek and fitted. I’m thinking to order a few different styles and brands to at least get an idea of what I like.
@HImom I am considering a similar dress to the Karl Langerfeld for a wedding I’m attending in January.
KL and the one lined above are very pretty. Here is a short dress with sleeves in the same “embroidery over dark dress” style:

@mom60, you can easily see order and try on several dresses (as long as the stores have good shipping and return policies) to see what you like best. Sounds like you have some nice options to choose among.
I don’t dress up much so would have no use for many of these lovely outfits.
@HImom I rarely dress up. I’m a jean most of the time person. If I buy a dress it is usually from Anthropologie.
How fun to have an event to dress for!
At my niece’s wedding in July in Truckee, I just wore a long solid jersey knit skirt and nice top (same outfit I often wear for the opera locally). I’m trying not to acquire a lot of one use outfits.
@BunsenBurner that DVF is pretty. I’m just not sure about black for a MOB.
Wedding is 4 pm. Ceremony will take place on a lawn overlooking a bay or on a ridge in a cow pasture overlooking a bay. June could be foggy or cold but hopefully by 4 the sun will be out.
How about this from Anthropologie?

You could dress it up with accessories.

I like these. Anthropologie is having 30% off so I will order a few
