@VeryHappy These are the two navy ones I liked best. The first one was actually knee length, only available in store at Neiman. The second fits like a glove.
As you can see, all over the cost spectrum. And the blush one is actually the same as the navy one I love. And cheap! I just think it’s only ok. I normally wear bolder colors. And I am somewhat plagued by the thought that it may be a little too casual compared to what MOG is wearing. Hers is sparkly bodice and satin dress bottom.
@yauponredux I’ll be going for a hair & makeup trial run next month. The girls are pushing the spray tan for color, too.
Wow. That pricey one sure is – pricey. I know there are people who can afford to spend so much on a dress, but – oh my. I like all of the others, though – even the blush one.
I think silver would be pretty with the plum bridesmaid dresses.
I don’t know, today I returned some things I bought on line (not to Nordstrom) and the manager yelled at me. She was kinda nice about it but clearly annoyed. I feel bad as I know returns affect their store numbers. But I didn’t want to pay to return and nothing worked out. It was a $300 return. I do not keep stuff I know I won’t wear.
From my recent shopping excursions, if the brick and mortars had more of a selection in my size, color, etc., I would have happily taken dresses home. But the options were slim, hence the online orders. Not my fault! But have now gotten to point it just easier to click in the comfort of my pj’s.
Yes, returning 22 dresses last week probably didn’t win me any friends with managers at Nordies, BLoomie’s, Saks, Neiman, Macy’s.
The SFA dress is pretty, but I’d be concerned it would really show wrinkles, especially as you will be sitting quite a bit as well as standing. It is lovely, as are all the other dresses.
@deb922: My advice is to not buy a non-petite Adriana Papell dress! They make petite sizes; look for something there. You will not be able to have that hem shortened so the entire dress looks good.
Thanks @VeryHappy I was hoping you would weigh in. I won’t order that dress. The one you linked is very pretty. I think I’ll try that one. It looks very flattering.
Over the last few weeks I’ve ordered too many regular sizes, and if the bottom of the dress has anything special, it just won’t work. By the time you have someone cut off the extra six or eight or 12 inches, you’ve lost the shape of the dress.
I generally still need petites shortened about two inches but that usually doesn’t ruin the line of the dress.
Thanks, I found it on vacation to Florida at Dillards. It was in my size and the price! $110! Everything else I tried on was much higher. I was ready to buy it before I looked at the tag and well, that cinched it.
@gosmom, be careful with shiny satin dresses. In photos they can sometimes highlight every crease and crinkle and lump. Kind of like the shiny clear bra strap issue. Don’t ask me how I know this…
