So I’m representing Belgium in my next Model UN meeting - where I’ll be on the EU - and I was actually thinking about bringing some Belgium chocolates to the conference as a bit of a prop and an ice breaker. I’d just like to know y’all’s thoughts on that. Would it be acceptable? Would people enjoy it?
Thank You All Very Much.
Also, If anyone had an idea to present that at the conference (such as in like a bowl or what next to my placard).
Once, the French delegate brought donuts to our conference, so I think it would be acceptable. It was a pretty small committee though (only ~30 delegations), so it worked pretty well when she was trying to suck up.
She won gavel, of course.
Idk, maybe it’s because of the conferences that I’ve been to, but normally the delegate you brings in stuff pisses off everyone
^Everyone but the chairs. Depending.
I had actually thought about that but I wasn’t sure that it would because it’s relevant to my country, being Belgium and giving out Belgium chocolate.
Have you guys ever encountered a delegate that just sends really weird notes? … Once the delegation of India sent me (pakistan) a note saying “I’d like to eat djibouti like a cheesecake, but eating beef is against country policy” :-t
Not really appropriate if you ask me.
Maybe, It was a bit humorous.
That happens quite a bit yes, but that’s just the fun of Model UN. It’s why I love it.
