Discuss. True or not?

By definition, no.

But if by ‘modesty’ you mean ‘false modesty’, then a solid argument could be made. The two terms do have different meanings though.

Some mistake insecurity for modesty and will call others jerks for having an ounce confidence. Outside of that, though–eh. Like ThisCouldBeHeavn said, it depends on how sincere the modesty actually is.

I don’t really see how it’s possible to be “modest” without faking it unless you have accomplished almost nothing significant. Most high achievers I have met who are “modest” are faking it to improve their image, and are actually quite arrogant if you get to know them well.

Many high achievers may look modest from a mile away, but once you get to know them, it’s pretty damn clear that they aren’t modest at all.

I would disagree that modesty doesn’t exist, but it’s not really relevant anyway. If they’re “quite arrogant” than they’re not actually modest.

not true. there are people who do great things, but truly think that they’re no big deal, that anyone should do it, just because it’s the right thing. and they’re usually right, but most people just don’t do the right thing.

No, I don’t agree. People who try to be modest can often be ulteriorly arrogant, but modesty itself isn’t the source of the arrogance. Modesty is a frame of mind, and if you think about it, you’re probably not modest.
