I’m 5’4" so most jeans are too long on me (and petites don’t fit right in certain places). My daughter made me buy a pair at J. Crew and I love them – they’re called 9" high rise tooth pick (I can’t wear those ones that hit at the hip). They’re a little long but not so much that it bothers me. I used to wear Ann Taylor Loft 4P but they kept falling down and I’m not really a belt person.
Not Your Daughters Jeans are my favorite. They are just the right cut and fit well. They come in a variety of styles from skinny jeans to regular ones. You can usually find them on sale at Nordstrom Rack.
I also like Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. They actually feel like NYDJs in terms of size. They can be purchased at Costco for all of $20 a pair…maybe less. Lots of colors, and in winter they have cords too.
I used to have Bandelino Blue Jeans…but I haven’t had much luck finding them recently. They were from Macy’s.
Old Navy Rock Star
Ann Taylor Loft (but I don’t remember the details re: style)
Gap 1969
I have a pair of Lucky Brand jeans that I adore. Just the perfect amount of stretch and so comfy. They come in all different inseam lengths. I found them at TJ Maxx but the Rack often has them on clearance too.
Another vote for the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. Wal-Mart sells them (at least online), and they’re usually under $20 when on sale.
My favorite are Joe’s Jeans, expensive so I buy them at Nordstrom Rack.
I had a pair I got at Loft that I loved but when I tried to replace them, I got what I thought were the same ones. However, the material is way more stretchy and they sag/stretch after a couple hours so I rarely wear them. Wish I could find the same as my old ones.
Another vote for NYDJ. I love their wide leg trouser jean but wear several types.
I like Joe’s Jeans also, but my favorites are J Brand. They are expensive, but you can find sales on the internet.
Banana Republic jeans seem to fit me well. My very favorite are a pair I bought for $19.99 on final sale at BR several years ago. They are a skinny ish pair of straight leg jeans.
For my particular body type, Max Mara Sportmax and J Brand work best.
Paige jeans. I get them at Nordstrom Rack. I’ve had a few styles and like them a lot. Have had luck with Lucky (ha!) and recently picked up some cute ankle length Levi’s! Old school!
Yay, for this normal thread! Thank you!
I don’t have a love affair with jeans like most people do.
That said, in the past I have had luck with Lucky Brand or GAP a little back in the day.
But I bought the Old Navy Rock Star Jeggings this past fall and I don’t think I’ve wore any other jeans in my closet. Love them, love them. Fully the look of a skinny jean, with the comfort of a jegging. Whoever created them is a genius!!!
I have a couple of pairs of Joe’s, but I tend to go for the Old Navy Rock Stars the most. I have several pairs in different washes. Cheap and good looking.
So many brands I haven’t tried yet! I’ve got to check them out. Thanks all!
I love AG brand. I’ve tried a lot of other brands and keep coming back to AG. They are expensive but I buy them at the outlet. I used to like the legging style but last year bought a pair of the ex boyfriend style and liked them so much I’ve since bought several more of that style in different washes. I bought the Old Navy Rock Star jegging that many of you loved but I don’t find them comfortable which surprises me since I mainly wear skinny jeans.
I like AGs too! Usually find mine at TJ Maxx.
Madewell- I like the 9 “ rise and also the boyfriend or whatever they call the more relaxed ones.
Anyone else buy jeans at J.Jill?
Another vote for Gloria Vanderbilt “Amanda” jeans. I have several colors including black, gray, and several shades of blue.
I am also 5’4" (substantially larger than a size 4) and I have found that the lengths can vary in the GV jeans. Sometimes the “regular” length is fine and sometimes it is too long. Usually, the “short” length is just a little too short for me.
Lucky brand sweet & straight, Calvin Klein, Old Navy Rockstar are my go to jeans. I prefer low rise so the newer midrise and high rise styles don’t work for me. I’ve had luck at Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack for the Lucky and Calvin Klein.
