Moms over 50 -- what are your favorite pair of jeans?

I feel like I have a lot of jeans. I am short (5’3) so have three pairs of jeans to wear with heels (2 dark wash, dressy jeans, and one medium wash) and then six pairs of jeans to wear with flats - 2 dark wash - one straight leg, one skinny; 2 medium wash - one straight leg, one skinny; 2 light wash - one tapered, one ripped/boyfriend style. All my jeans are mid rise. Low and high don’t look good on me.

5’ and 130. I love, love, love my Eddie Bauer jeans - which are getting a lot of use the past few weeks. They have a petite that fits me perfectly seeing I usually have to go somewhere and get pants shortened, but the petites at EB fit me perfectly. When you find something like that at my height, you stick with it. Get 'em on sale, and it’s a good deal

I “only” have about 4 pairs of jeans, and I wear them all. I got rid of several pairs of them at some point (I’m not searching the bag a week thread to figure out when  ) and I don’t buy them often. I did buy 2 new pairs a couple of years ago, because I needed an update. I have some Lucky brand (I THINK Brook is the style), NYDJ, and Kut from the cloth, or something like that. I also have some “work jeans” from Talbots. They are a regular pants style, but denim.

I too dumped about 10 pairs of black pants at some point within the last couple of years, but am refreshing them also.

Speaking of jeans, anyone else remember the store Up Against the Wall, and spending much of your part time earnings there in high school?

I probably have 20+ pairs…and wear like 3! My job is now super casual, so I can wear them to work (well, for the next 5 weeks or so I’ll be wearing sweats to my basement to work, so I may need a bigger size!). My favorites right now are Style & Co from Macy’s - cheap! the Curvy skinny fit is my fave.

Hopefully with being home all the time I will find time to empty out the closet. I think I can literally get rid of 90% of what’s in there!

I tend to wear either jeans or dresses/skirts - in other words, I don’t do “dress pants” or leggings - so I do have a lot of jeans. Maybe 8 pairs regular length (ankle-ish) and 2 pairs that are cropped that I only wear in warmer weather. Absolutely love J Crew 9" high-rise stretchy toothpick and J Crew curvy vintage straight (which is weird because I’m not very curvy  ), and J Crew regular vintage straight, too.

Edited to add, I like the way leggings, jeggings, etc. look on other people, I just don’t like the way my own weirdly bulgy knees look in them. But super-straight jeans tend to yield almost the same look for me.

I have 8 Blue jeans and haven’t worn 3 of them this year. I like them, just like my newer ones more. I had gotten rid of about 6 last year.

I wear all my black jeans (3) and white jeans (3).

I decline to answer that one ?

Too many. But I do stay the same size so when I get a new pair it’s to change some things up.

I did decide this year that a high rise works better for me so I did donate a few pair that were perfectly good but fall down and I hate pulling up my jeans all the time.

In my regular rotation
Skinny pair of black jeans
Skinny pair of medium denim
Dark pair of skinnies that I bought in one size too big but I wear. They bag out terribly so I wish I had sized down one.
Pair of mom jeans that I just got but haven’t worn yet. They were for spring but now I’m not going anywhere ?
I have a few pair of white jeans that I replace either every year or every other year because they don’t last that long.
And a pair of the Athleta sculptek jeans, just because apparently

I didn’t have any black pants but bought a pair last year just so I would have one if I had to go somewhere that I can’t wear jeans or a dress.

I’m not sure how many pairs of jeans I have. If I had to guess–9-10 pairs. I’m retired, so I wear pants almost all the time. My new favorites are Rag and Bone jeans. I used to wear Eileen Fisher until my daughter told me that only old ladies wear that brand. (I am an old lady but don’t want to admit it.) I also have a few pairs of Gap boyfriend jeans that I love.

I have 3 pairs - one black, one dark blue and one (naturally) faded boyfriend cut for just hanging around - I realized about a year ago I had several pairs I just never wore so donated them.

I have maybe 6-8 pairs. I have two pairs that I grab over & over.

Last year, I donated a bunch that didn’t fit and/or I never wore.

I will need to do another purge & buy more replacements.

Squats & deadlifts have made my lower body bigger — I cannot fit into most of the ones in my closet.

I’m not sure yet if it’s as simple as sizing up, or if I’ll need to discover a new style/cut.

I have about 6-8 pair, including black, white and grey. Interesting to see how many like NYDJ, I bought some and never really thought they were flattering on me (I’m 5’7", about 130 pounds, size 8).

I’m afraid to count (and some are on a shelf and some hang) but probably at least 15. I do cull them periodically when I try something on and ask myself “what was I thinking?” I do like jeans and if I ever go back to the office, we CAN wear them everyday. Jeans are sort of like comfort food to me- I like buying them.

@Bromfield2, I like Rag&Bone as well. They also have some very good sales. That’s where I get my “trendier” jeans. Joe’s Jeans and J Brand are also popular in my closet.

Oh, I didn’t count colored jeans. I think I have about 3-4 pairs of black, and a pair of gray, and if you count capris as jeans I guess I have more.
I don’t know that I’ve ever owned a pair of white jeans.

I probably have 6-8 pairs. Need to count. I would have collected more but I much prefer dresses than pants and wear my dresses with leggings.

I regularly go through my closet and purge but jeans are one thing I have a tough time with…I probably have 12 pair but wear 3 or 4. But, when I go through, the other pair look nice and I resolve to wear them but, somehow, I don’t. Maybe with this extra time on my hands, I’ll go through with a more critical eye. Of course, right now, I’m not wearing jeans at all. PJ bottoms or yoga pants is about it.

For many years, I had only one pair of ancient jeans (rarely worn). I tended to wear dress pants at work, and my casual pants were usually khakis, dockers, etc.

After loosing weight I did buy pricey NYDJ black jeans (worn all the time). Also I have about 5 more pair bought at thrift shops and one new pair I really love from Macy’s ($11 fluke, when I was shopping to kill time when hubby had an errand - I think Charter Club)

Gloria Vanderbilt. Cheap and comfy. And I’m way past 50 and retired and don’t give a hoot about designer “anything”, LOL.

I have a pair of Levi’s that I got at Costco a year or so ago that I LOVE. Although wearing any pants (with buttons) is a little scary right now!! I seem to be living in sweatpants.

I have mostly J Brand, AG, Paige and Lucky Brand jeans. I have always loved jeans and although I am not as thin as I once was I still feel good in a great fitting pair of jeans. To be honest I probably have 15 to 20 pairs in my closet.
