I have a monologue question: When they say to show contrast, do they mean two completely different character types, even if it is out of your believable range? or should all your characters be characters you would be believable as, even if it shows less range? thank you and i hope that makes sense :)</p>
<p>Contrast can mean many things: light vs. serious, classical vs. modern, farce vs. reality, etc. Colleges usually want you to pick characters that you could reasonably play at this time. Don’t attempt to do monologues that are spoken by someone who is 30 years older than you are, for example.</p>
