Hi.
If anyone has experience with Moravian’s merit aid, can you please share what the potential is? I was told they do not offer full scholarship now (they used to several years ago). As a D3 institution there is no athletic scholarship either. Was anyone offered merit that was more than their maximum scholarship (Presidential)?
Or maybe, you were able to negotiate with them by presenting a better offer from a similar college?
Any leads would be very appreciated!
PS. I have similar questions regarding Susquehanna University.

Just to clarify, my student should qualify for their top merit automatic scholarships, but I was wondering if there is a potential to get full (or almost full) tuition scholarship in those two colleges.
Where schools give full academic scholarships they are usually endowed scholarships and/or the number can be counted on one hand.
My son got his largest merit aid offer from Susquehanna and they are frequently mentioned among the top merit aid grantors in the country. He got slightly more than a 50% grant. So cost still in the 30s. I loved the campus and area, reminded me of my alma mater, but he thought it was too far away.

My son was offered a full tuition scholarship to Susquehanna, but this was quite a few years ago. He ended up not going because he decided to study engineering.
I liked the school so much that I took my two younger kids to see it. My daughter got into the honors program and had a good four years there. She got some aid, but I can’t remember how much. I do recall that they gave her a stipend and free piano lessons if she participated in the jazz band. She studied art history and photography and had excellent professors. She graduated in 2020, so that was tough, but she made friends that she still has today. It’s funny, several of them were from PA and moved to Maine, but last year she moved from Maine to PA! She’s teaching piano and editing articles.
I think she liked everything about Susquehanna except for the food. She did feel that the curriculum was a little too easy, but being in the honors program helped.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, those schools are very generous (especially for high stat students) and only a few offer full scholarships. Was wondering if that is the case with these 2 schools. I obviously researched their websites before posting here, but didn’t find anything. So, I thought that maybe there are scholarships that are not widely advertised but could bring tuition down significantly.
So glad to hear your positive feedback! I wonder if SU stopped offering the scholarship your son got a few yers ago. Do you happen to remember the name of it or if it was advertized when he applied?
At first they offered him a half scholarship. When they knew he was wavering, they upped it to a full one. I THINK it was called the Presidential Scholarship, but I could be wrong.
