Ford Engineer That Designed Gas Tank Indicator Passes Away
Although Jim Moylan wasn’t a celebrity in the usual sense, I have used his invention for years.
Very sad, a month after diagnosis. I wonder if this could be found otherwise. While tragic, her life will continue via her child. Thankfully she had her baby.
Cancer - it’s just horrible.
She was diagnosed when her youngest child was born. Went though many treatments, and when it was finally clear they were out of options, she chose to share publicly. It is awful when bad things happen to good people. She was so young.
Wow. We knew it was coming, but she only announced it last month. So sad
Those excerpts in People. ![]()
a month after publicly telling people her condition - not a month after diagnosis - she went public only after they ran out of treatment options.
Sorry - I misread - nonetheless very sad and it’s very fortunate she was able to give birth in time.
Long article by her here. Tatiana Schlossberg on Being Diagnosed with Leukemia After Giving Birth | The New Yorker
Her words so impactful and heart felt that we heard last month from her. A talented writer who wrote in a way that was human, relatable and heartbreaking. ![]()
Her younger child was born in May of 2024. Apparently some bloodwork picked up the dyscrasia. The variant she had was apparently aggressive and she was at some point told she had at most a year to live. So painfully sad.
I only know this actor from various appearances on Law & Order - one where he was a security guard killing kids reading porn magazines. And just earlier this week, the episode aired when he hired someone to kill undercover detectives as vengeance for his step son’s murder.
He’s a lot more prolific than I know. But memorable in my favorite show.
We had a recurring role on Veep as Secretary of Defense, which is where I first noticed him. But he’s done a lot of guest spots. RIP
He was awesome in The Wire. IMO one of the best television series of all time.
Back to the hockey theme, Glenn Hall has died at age 94.
He had a record string of 502 starts in a row as a goaltender, of course spanning multiple seasons. Perhaps his longevity as a goaltender and his longevity as a living person were somehow linked. I do remember him being very good from back when I was young.
In the picture in this article I see John Ferguson of the Montreal Canadians in front of Glenn Hall and the St. Louis net. This also seems very appropriate, and was the right place for John Ferguson to be (when he was not in the penalty box).
No mask either. Only 6 teams and I think teams only carried one goalie. No backups.
Aldrich Ames, the infamous spy, has died in prison. He was 84.
Elle Simone from America’s Test Kitchen on PBS died. Ovarian Cancer. I loved her on the show. ![]()
