More Questionable Behavior by George Zimmerman

George Zimmerman + his new girlfriend = Florida’s dumbest ‘dumb & dumber’ duo.

I was shocked when he pointed a gun at me! Who points a loaded weapon at someone in an argument ?

George Zimmerman continues to make a mockery of an already drastically flawed Florida judicial system. Unfortunately someone else will have to die before he’s finally put away for good.

Has Zimmerman won his millions from NBC yet? Maybe, once the dust settles and he owns their board of directors, he can direct them to stop putting his traffic tickets and domestic disputes on the national news.

For some of us who thought he was innocent in the Martin case, it is getting exceedingly difficult to defend this guy.

No-one ever said he was a wonderful human being. Those who believed him innocent simply argued that while he was being bashed in the head shooting in self-defense seemed reasonable. That says nothing about his character. OTOH Are 2 speeding tickets and some angry but uninjured women criminal? The new girlfriend with the broken sunglasses doesn’t strike me as all that credible, either. Why is she dating him? Just why?

There are plenty of jerks roaming the streets. Assuming that GZ is one of them - and I have no particular reason to suspect that he is - why are his transgressions making national news? Why did any of this make national news? For my money, I’m inclined to believe that it’s race baiting, politics, and character assassination more than anything; something to give the chronic malcontents something to whine about; a government subsidy to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who probably got a cut of the parents’ settlement; fodder for the 24-hour news networks, who likely send kickbacks to keep these manufactured crises coming; etc. Those seem like far more probable scenarios than some guy in Florida who’s so evil that his jaywalking is cause for concern.

Worrying about George Zimmerman’s speeding tickets is silly. IIRC, that was reported on pretty soon after the verdict, when he was still very much a part of the public discourse; I doubt it would have made the news today.

The second of two domestic violence claims since this summer? That does strike me as newsworthy, and beyond the scope of normal “jerk” behavior.

I’m not going to resurrect the issue of whether or not Zimmerman should have been convicted of something in Travyon Martin’s death. But most people somehow make it through their entire lives without killing an unarmed person, and most people also manage to avoid being accused of domestic violence once, let alone three times. Contrary to the proverb, there isn’t always fire when there’s smoke, but George Zimmerman has accumulated a heck of a lot of smoke around him in a pretty short time period. Maybe there has been some character assassination, but Zimmerman isn’t helping his case any.

Why does OJ still make national news now?

My perception is that some people get addicted to the glare of the spotlight. He was receiving national attention for a long while, and then he was acquitted which made him feel like a winner. Then the spotlight disappeared and he was not prepared for that - being anonymous isn’t going to work for this guy (although most intelligent people would have kept a very low profile after that trial). He likes the spotlight and will do whatever it takes to keep it shining on him.

In cases of DV, this is absolutely nothing noteworthy. I suspect, if he really pointed a gun at her, that he is a run-of-the-mill assailant. If that’s the case, the most likely outcome will be escalation until her death- or beaten so badly that she finally caves and seeks help.

No, calling the police isn’t seeking help.

She claims he broke her sunglasses and broke a table. He says she broke the table. The gun claim is just that and an easy way to get attention when dealing with GZ. She knows this. Everyone knows this. Please, don’t misunderstand. I am not defending him and cannot imagine why she is with him in the first place but no-one was injured. This is not OJ Simpson. His wife was repeatedly bloodied and bruised and had her head cut off. We are talking about broken sunglasses, if true. And, how does this guy get a girlfriend, anyway?

Good question about how any woman would want to date GZ.

It has come out recently that GZ was lying in his statements when he said that he and his wife had “mentored” children that Sunday afternoon, he’d cooked dinner for them and then headed to the grocery store (and GZ’s father repeated these statements). His soon-to-be ex-wife revealed that they’d had a fight the previous night and she’d left to stay with her father. So he was probably in a foul mood when he encountered Trayvon.

GZ is in the news because he killed a young man and got away with it due to very dangerous gun laws in Florida. His continued bad behavior puts him there. If he wasn’t having these domestic disputes, he’d be out of the news.

But there will always be a sense of justice gone wrong because he chased down a kid and then killed him. Just because Florida has bad laws doesn’t mean we all agree he is innocent of murder.

Did you watch the trial because I did and there was no chasing. The teenager actually came back and confronted GZ who finally shot him in self-defense when he was mounted and being pummeled into the concrete. That was the evidence.

But, I wouldn’t date him.

Yeah. I watched the trial.

acting, if you were responding to me in #72, you’ll notice I said “if” he did it.

Aww, poor misunderstood George Zimmerman. My heart bleeds for him.

Meanwhile, Ohio, where I live, is about to pass a similar Stand Your Ground law. Oh yay.

Is their nothing that can be done to stop that law ohio? Those laws are so dangerous.
