More Questionable Behavior by George Zimmerman

It was a self-defense case, not stand your ground. But we are getting off topic. On the domestic violence stuff broken sunglasses makes light of actual DV. IMHO.

Gun pointing is bad but they both had guns and we don’t actually know what happened.

As a responsible gun owner, all I can say is gun pointing is not just BAD. Geez

Very bad. LOL!

No. It passed the house 65-22 or something like that and will pass the senate by a similar margin.

It doesn’t matter much that the state’s police and prosecutors, church groups, the other entire party, anyone is against it. Our state is gerrymandered to the point that our reps do not have to answer to anyone who oppose the law.

We can just send the obligatory protest emails, letters to the editor and watch in sad shock.

I watched the trial and that is exactly what happened. Martin waited for Zimmerman and then attacked him and Zimmerman was legally justified in shooting Martin. Even though he may have acted lawfully, Zimmerman is a complete jerk, horrible person and every other bad name that can be attached to him.

I don’t see how anyone would employ him so I don’t know where he is getting his money.

I don’t see how any woman on earth would date him other than a woman who ultimately wants to be in tabloids after claiming abuse by Zimmerman.

I am surprised Zimmerman has not done a tell all media interview for millions of dollars.

Sunglasses and a table, according to allegations. Assailants will often start off by breaking things just to prove that they can. It’s not making light- it’s all an escalation.

I have zero idea what happened. None of us do. I have zero sympathy even if he’s innocent and I hope she gets away from him.

I find it astonishing that people still believe all these incidents just somehow happen to poor GZ.

He’ll be back in jail before Xmas.

Ohio. I’m sorry to hear that. Sometimes I’m astonished by lack of common sense thinking we encounter. Good luck!

emilybee, right?!?! This is what’s called a PATTERN.

^ Plain as the nose on my face.

razor–you watched the trial, and the defense put forth a good argument. it does not mean any of what was presented was actually what happened. please it was what Z claimed happened. frankly when you hear the story Z tells of these domestic violence incidents with his wife and this girlfriend it is clear he again sees himself as a victim. what this demonstrates most likely is his own capacity to quickly resort to violence when scared/angry/stressed. and to lie about what occurred. this does not mean these women are lying and to blame.

but here’s the odd part of your argument, if you believe he was innocent then why wouldn’t an employer or a potential girlfriend. why do you malign a woman for seeing him as innocent/trustworthy when you do?

seems there’s a knee jerk reaction of blaming the female victim in these domestic violence incidents, as there was in blaming Trayvon. but the common denominator in these violent acts is Zimmerman.

I just lost a colleague who was murdered by her boyfriend, along with her 13 yr old son. he then turned the gun on himself. the only thing he’d ever done prior to this vicious murder/suicide was push her and destroy property. as with Zimmerman the violence escalated, and this is a common pattern. very sad how some refuse to see this for what it is.

So is saying the girlfriend was “going crazy on him.” Funny how it’s always the other person’s fault when GZ is involved.

Apparently he is hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

X-posted with lindz, and probably not for the first time. :)

The 911 call he made when the police are knocking on his door to talk to him is surreal.

I know! He made the call “to tell his side of the story.” Of course, always thinking ahead.

right…if his gf was going “crazy” on him, then why wouldn’t he have simply left HER premises, when she asked him to do while she called 911?

How about because he is very familiar with the system and wanted to get his side of the story into the mix? He waited for the police to arrive. Most domestic abusers would have taken off. It’s a little strange but the fact that she is dating him in the first place blows alot of her credibility.

Also, when did breaking stuff become domestic violence? No-one has even accused him of anything physical (well, apart from that shooting thing but that was ruled self-defense).

Call the police and tell them your boyfriend broke your sunglasses. Unless his name is GZ I doubt they’ll respond.

Martin had four minutes to run home. This is based on the 911 call and witness reports, not Zimmerman. Instead of running a few hundred feet home, Martin waited until he could attack Zimmerman. Martin punched Zimmerman in the nose breaking the nose. Martin slammed Zimmerman’s head into the sidewalk. Zimmerman shot Martin in response to Martin’s physical violence.

This isn’t just my take on the evidence, the jury acquitted him and several jury members told reporters what I just wrote.e

I don’t like Zimmerman because he carries a gun. I don’t like guns and I don’t like people who carry them. Most of the men who are not law enforcement but who carry guns are doing so because they have some inadequacy about their masculinity and think big guns make them big men. Whether Zimmerman is innocent or not has no affect on whether I like or dislike him.

An angry man who is much bigger than his girlfriend, has a history of violence, has shown a lack of control in tense situations and owns and is willing to use guns becomes threatening when he raises his voice and starts to break her stuff. Yes, the GF is stupid to have gotten mixed up with him but she also knows that little disagreements can lead to “shooting things” with him.

I heard the girlfriend and the mother were trying to arrange a paid interview with the media for a couple of weeks before this incident. Something doesn’t smell right about this fracas. Zimmerman is no angel but I don’t think the girlfriend should be anointed sainthood yet.

Sally - Well, now you’re just making stuff up. We have never seen him yell anything except help. And he didn’t shoot until he was mounted and pummeled. Remarkably, he didn’t even fight. But, that case is settled.
